    Freelander 1 Preserving the scarce ! FL1

May be of use to someone for parts (or more). Panels look good… https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/365227890007?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=bbbav0hrrew&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=mw5ifrctqxe&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Heater very cool even on max

Chances are your temp gauge does not get past 1/4? If so, probably your stat is stuck open, which is quite common for these. Bad news is changing the original stat is quite a job. Good news is you can leave it alone and fit an in-line stat into the car, which will let it run up to 1/2 on the...

That might be the place to start looking then…

    Weird noise

I wondered that… it sounds a bit like the drone from the one in my F1… Doesn’t the F2 have an auxiliary electric heater that kicks in whilst the engine warms up? Could be something to do with that perhaps. @badlad does this happen only when the car is cold, or or only when the weather is cold?

    Freelander 1 No gear selection.

Yes - it is a very good video for seeing the job at a diy level.

    Freelander 1 No gear selection.

Ok - just watched the ‘09 FL2 video. The guy has clearly done plenty of them, but the way he is just throwing the bolts on the floor here, there and everywhere leaves me wary. What does he do when he cant find one of them? I’m sure they are much cheaper than most due to no overheads for...

Nope - but watching one with interest!

Front lower wishbone: 2006 FL 1

^ +1 Give the whole area a good clean with a wire brush first, to remove as much rust and dirt as possible, especially from the bolt/nut/threads. Soak a few days before you are going to do the job, I use PB blaster. Use good 6-sided sockets, not 12. Work them backwards and forwards slowly when...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Well done for tracing it and finding the culprit

    Freelander 1 Preserving the scarce ! FL1

It’s a nice car… but it’s still 23 years old. Mis-matched tyres on it for a start. Definitely worth saving, just not worth 5k.

Very tidy indeed, but a lot of money for it

    Long Start Td4

Why are you burning through drop links so quick. What’s wrong?

    Freelander 1 Cutting out underload

Check the sensor at the end of the fuel rail. Also check the wiring harness for it.

    Freelander 1 Cutting out underload

P1260 is related to the fuel pump, 0190 is fuel pressure related P0500 is a speed sensor issue These could be old codes. Clear them, then run the car and re-read.

    Freelander 1 Cutting out underload

What made you replace the HPFP? What were the symptoms you were trying to fix?

FL1 td4 presumably? Have you read the codes / got any live data?

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Stand-alone CarPlay screen

So I’m looking at options for a stand-alone screen for the F2. Last week I put one into the F1, that my daughter bought online from Jeff. Made of Chinesium, but Bluetooth calls and maps work quite well for the price (£80 ish). Any one have any recommendations? Know of something that works well...
