Daft question time… these can be sods for messing around when your battery is duff. Starting point ; Is your battery good (as in new(ish), not just ‘charged’)?

Anyone had experience of Falken Wildpeaks? I run the Geolander GO15’s on my F1, and have no reason to complain. Good all-rounder for general road use and occasional green laning / off road. I’m looking at options for the F2, and these seem a comparable alternative in terms of price.

Me new rear driveshafts have arrived for the F2. Back end will all be new and shiny - well, for a couple of days at least.

TD4 has 2 fuel pumps, a low pressure one (LP) and a high pressure one (HPFP). The LP delivers the fuel to the HPFP. The HPFP then does what it says on the tin, and delivers the fuel via the rail to the injectors at extremely high pressure. The LP pumps behind the r/o/s wheel arch are known for...

Well, I have the new subframe in and torqued up on the F2. Gave that a nice coating of wax spray also. Leaving that to dry now, while I wait for the Haldex ecm to return. Last balancing act lift will see the diff/haldex going back in later in the week.

Looks from your other posts to be a TD4? You shouldn’t need to touch the accelerator to start it. Could well be the camshaft sensor, they can cause starting issues, especially when the engine is warm. Could be slow fuel delivery on the LP side? Have you checked for codes.

Well, I’m up. Dog fed. 2nd coffee on the go. Just thinking through my plans for the day… starting the re-install of new shiny bits on the back-end of the F2. Popped out yesterday to collect a parcel in the F1 - not used it for a month. Started on the flick of the key and was a joy to drive.

Not a big concern on the prop cv joint - looks like when the cap popped at one end it allowed a bit of grease to get between the mating surfaces. Clamped it closed again today and grease has stopped - I’m sure the bolts will close it when it goes back on. It only lost a few ml’s, so no worries...

Got the rear sub frame out. Along with the driveshafts, diff, Haldex, suspension arms, AR bar, drop links… there is an awful lot of ‘nothing’ under the back at the moment. ‘Tis a tough job on a drive. Haldex ecm posted away today for the scrabble mod. Now trying to establish if I’ve got a...

Started the long job of switching the rear sub frame on the F2…

I’ve too decided that, if I’m in my F1, I will now wave or flash at every F1 I pass. It’s the right thing to do.
