Firstly check the pump actually works, disconnect the outlet pipe and see if it squirts fuel out. Is your pump new? You might have to prime the pipes, inject the fuel lines with diesel from the pump to the tank , then from the pump to the filter. You have got fuel in the tank haven't you...?

if you're having trouble bleeding the fuel system, make sure you have power to the fuel cut off solenoid (and its working). Is the lift pump working? You have to turn the engine to the correct position for the hand primer to work.

Anyone know what car this is from? I got it in a box of Land Rover parts but I don't recognise it from and Land Rover vehicle. It is made by Lucas and has 167 SA on it. Standard UK wiring codes and a unique light switch.

You try a fuel pump purge in case there is an airlock in the system. Ignition on, six very quick pumps of the accelerator, then let the pump to through its cycle. Then try it again.

Can you hear your fuel pump running when you turn the ignition on? Have you got enough fuel in (don't trust your gauge)? Have you got oil contamination in your harness? (red plug into your ecu)?

The 'CA' part of the registration shows it as first registered in Denbighshire (North Wales). DVLA are more guarded about giving out info these days, due to data protection and all that.

Possibly and auxiliary under seat fuel tank.

Are the plug leads on in the right order and right place? Have you had the dizzy out? If so did you put it back the right way round? It can be 180 degrees out.

Standard Series 3 blue was marine blue, The Coastguard and Royal Navy were painted Dark Oxford Blue (IIRC) but these were very small number in comparison.

Yes, I've been lucky enough to own two in the past, a RHD GS and a LHD FFR. Loved them both, I wish I could afford another. I noticed a project sold on eBay recently for £11000!

Land Rover built one of the best 4x4s ever, using a V8 and leaf (parabolic) springs, the 101 Forward Control. The Stage 1 109, a great vehicle, along with factory built 88 V8s prototypes. A V8 and leaf springs is not a bad idea in itself, if designed in from the start.
