900x16 tyres were standard fit to 1 ton (109) models and LWB TACR 1 Fire tenders used by the RAF. They 'fit' but they will raise you're gearing. 1 Ton models had lower ratios in the transfer box IIRC. You might have to alter steering bump stops to stop them rubbing on the springs on full lock.

At those prices I would imagine both vehicles are fairly 'sorted' and in good condition. If you don't know exactly what you're looking for, take someone with you who knows a bit about series Land Rovers. Its very difficult to say which vehicle would be better without seeing them both. And...

Would the aerosol 'protection wax' from Toolstation and the like work?

The old lightweight is suffering due to damp. It wont start unless I dry out the dizzy with a hair dryer. I used to use 'Damp Start' ignition sealer but its not available anymore. Car Plan do one, has anyone used it? Is it any good? Or what else are people using to seal ignition systems?
