That's simply because they don't have the patented LandRover underbody protection system, (aka mahoosive oil leaks), and even then the Landy still sacrifices it's chassis to the rust gods.

What he said ^^^^^^^, notoriously badly rusting into the perforation of the chassis, and yes I believe it could have rusted into a hole in the housing, the missing oil must be going somewhere. The upside is, the soaking of the oil might make the relay housing easier to get out, mixed blessings.
