    1970s British Army rifle

Yes! That is exactly the one I had. Eventually I snapped the barrel about 3" forward of the stock; but then decided it just made it look more like an Uzi, so loved it more. Growing up in the 60s and 70s my friends and I played with mock weapons all the time. These days people would frown on...

    Should I get a D2?

At that price look for one with a galvanised chassis. Alternatively, consider one that is otherwise excellent but needs a new chassis, pay <£1000 and spend about £4K getting a new galvanised chassis put on. Otherwise, buy from an enthusiast not a dealer, and make sure the chassis is 100% solid...

There were certainly toy ones. I had one as a kid.

    1970s British Army rifle

No idea, I have never felt the need to try to find one. They were made in huge numbers though so there should be plenty of deactivated ones about.

L1A1 Self Loading Rifle (1954-1994) with a 7.62mm round. Like an elephant gun compared to the current kit. I really liked it.

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Going from 17 threads to 11 will have made a huge difference. At 17 threads I doubt the turbo was giving any boost until well above 2500 rpm.

    Cool. Good luck with it.

First Discovery, New to the Game!

What state is the chassis in? The bodywork has seen some action, so it is likely that the underside has had a few bashes over the years, and unless they are looked after, properly protected and repaired, they can rot quite quickly.

    Disco 2 TD5 Wading issue

Another possibility is water ingress to the throttle position sensor. Is any water getting to the pedals?

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Replaced the front passenger door seal with a genuine one from Rimmer Bros. No sign of any internal leaks from the sunroof or windscreen and I'm not using the air con at the moment. So I came to suspect the door seal. The old one was not fully in at the top right and when I peeled it off the...

    TD5 15mpg?

A brand new aftermarket MAF can be a problem itself in a 15p engine. But that should be irrelevant if you have mapped it out. You seem focused upon sensor performance, so I would clean the MAP, but then check the live data in order to rule out a turbo or air leak problem. I assume you have...

    TD5 15mpg?

If you have mapped out the MAF I assume the engine is using the MAP for fuelling data. Have you checked cleaned the MAP? You could also have a turbo problem and the extra fuel is being used by the extra throttle being used to compensate. I would start with comparing live data from the MAF...

    Disco 2 cdl

I can see the CDL inclusion in the Owners Handbook for the 03 model, which makes sense as it was an option for the later models. But I can see nothing in the handbooks for earlier models. Not sure why this would be if it was an option for 99-01 models.

Cannot find anything about it in the manual for my 99 model.

    Disco 2 cdl

That's one Disco urban legend blown then. So what is the answer? Did they start by making CDL D2 boxes and then change their minds?

    Disco 2 cdl

The Discovery 1 had CDL so the transfer boxes made for them all had it. When they built the Discovery 2 they decided that the new traction control system meant that it was no longer required, so they started building transfer boxes without it. However, they still had a whole load of the Disco 1...

    Disco 2 cdl

Do not go by the presence of the sticker, they can be changed very cheaply. I once looked at an otherwise immaculate £6K 04 ES that the owner swore blind had CDL and that he had used it many times. It was not until the test drive that it became clear it was not fitted. The owner claimed it was...

    Obd2 recommendation

I confess I have never tried. I understood that there were some issues with the earlier models, but I thought they had been sorted on the 530. Perhaps not.

The engine and transmission overage seems pretty comprehensive. So far the only deficiencies I have found are remapping NNN ECUs and some security settings, including the ability to disable passive immobilisation.
