That looks like the hole in the fly wheel housing you put the locking tool in to set the engine to TDC. If you go wading you should put a wading plug in there and then take it out again immediately after you finish.

Mine 90 has hinges as well which Ive never used. I though the brackets were a modification:confused:

You only need hinges if you want to be able to fold your windscreen down onto the bonnet.:fencing:

They're billet brackets not hinges:p

I think most series and Defenders are 'green' 4x4s. Most of them are still running and if not their parts are recycled and most of those parts are made from recycled materials. I doubt we'll see many 30 year old Touregs knocking about in the future, bluemotion or not.

I picked Def. 200tdi up for £1700. All it really needed was a respray and a good service. I found mine in the farmers Guardian.

That little bit of rust is nothing. very easy to fix. You dont need to take the roof off just jack the sides up or if you have to take sides off completely but no need to take roof off.
