Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

Bleed screw has a leak... it's already a metal one so looks like it's probably stripped the hose threads. dammit!.

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

Well that's been very interesting indeed. Mostly due to lets call them "modifications" made by a previous owner. I seem to have no mounting brackets for the radiator etc to screw into at the front - only to hold the intercooler from underneath. Also never seemed to stop getting bubbles from the...

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

Oh. Well that's a 2 same as the TSB too, so I still think I'm OK.

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

Ah, OK. My VIN is A74... so looks like I don't need to do anything. But thanks for the heads up. Weird that they would totally block a port like that, though.

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

Instructions look the same as the RAVE I have. What do I need to do with regards those bottom ports?

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

I'd still want a replacement radiator on standby just in case :D

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

Oh, and thats the other thing; one of the other symptoms I'm getting is that the heater doesn't blow warm unless I keep the revs up. Presumably needing to be above 1500RPM to activate the bypass. Assuming I'll need to do that when driving with the LiquiMoly, as well as when flushing to make sure...

Disco 2 Replacing radiator - help

OK, straight up I am looking for a possible shortcut here, and I'm prepared to be disappointed. That fragile bleed hose connector on my radiator has cracked, so need to replace the unit. Going to do it over the weekend with some help. Anyone local welcome to come join the fun haha. I was hoping...

Disco 2 Talk dirty to me

Definitely not warped manifold, I've had that 3 times so I know how it sounds. There's a now a very sturdy stud in the head that's going nowhere.

Other what have u done on ur disco today

Last week had the great pleasures of replacing the steering bars and the alternator. Uneven wear on one front tyre led me to take her in for tracking; garage spent an hour trying to free up the rusted bars to no avail. Spent over an hour and half a can of WD40 to loosen all the bolts (mostly on...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

I literally only ever have to unplug and replug the one under the passenger seat and it goes away...

Disco 2 Talk dirty to me

Specifically exhausts... Mine's blowing - can smell it at a stop with window open - and getting worse. Not too sure exactly where from just yet, need to try some ways to locate it. I'm thinking I may be able to do this myself (I'm learning bits and getting more confident), but am pretty...

Disco 2 Roof rack - what to buy?

I couldn't find a roof rack I liked, so designed my own and got it made (not the one in my profile picture). Cost me £300 total - though the actual mounting brackets came on the old rack with the car.

Disco 2 What to look at (and how) to identify source of tyre wear, and possible exhaust leak?

The manifold and head were both skimmed and fettled a few months back, replacing one stud that repeatedly failed with a much larger one; that's going nowhere haha. The carbonisation is a good tip; combined with the hand over the exhaust from above, hopefully I can find it. Can I get some tape...

Disco 2 What to look at (and how) to identify source of tyre wear, and possible exhaust leak?

Yep, it was the tracking. Or I should say *is* the tracking since the adjusters are completely seized they couldn't actually move them. Nice job for next week to fit some new ones and take her back again.

Disco 2 What to look at (and how) to identify source of tyre wear, and possible exhaust leak?

Front passenger tyre is wearing like this on the outer edge. I'm aware its probably suspension related, but I'd like some pointers what to go looking at, probably in some detail, so I can hopefully have the parts when I take it to the garage. They'll be doing enough diagnosis work to find my oil...

    Disco 2 Moving from 18" to 16"

No, I agree. That's why I switched to 16" rims.

Disco 2 Fitting dickie seats to my 5 seat TD5

A couple of questions for anyone who has done this: 1. The bracket for the passenger side - does that replace the black bracket which is already in place in the car? 2. Seat belts - how do I persuade them to release?
