After all that time getting the back bumper off, I've worked out the best way to do it. I should have got hold of 2ml of cannabis oil and sprayed it on the inside of the bumper. Then I should have taken the vehicle through customs.

If it's none of those it could be the exhaust recirculation back into the engine causing the problem.

At the end of the video it says that it costs £80,000 for a 20W one, the one shown in the film retails for a cool half million. Probably, until the patents expire, the only users will be heavy industry. As I wrote, "not particularly useful at present".

Hi Dieseldog69, I've worked out how to sever the bolts which hold the back bumper on. I got a flexible hacksaw blade and one of those handles which clamp on one end, and sawed away at it. Because it's flexible you can bend the blade in to cut the head of the bolt off. Naturally, when you've done...

Thursday's here and now I've spent a happy half hour rounding the heads of the bolts, but they've not moved. The back box of the bodywork is seriously rusted and will have to be replaced anyway, so I think it's going to be a case of cutting it away to get the angle grinder in to take the heads...

I've managed to get the plastic end cap off one end of the bumper, so I've gained access to the two bolts inside the bumper. This allows me to put WD40 onto them. Hopefully I'll be able to get them to turn when I come back and try on Thursday.

Thanks again. It had occurred to me that I might drill a reasonably large hole in the bumper and try and cut the end off the bolt through it, then put a blind grommet in the hole, but I wanted to seek advice before attempting that trick.

I'm trying to repair my Landrover Discovery, but know nothing, so I need to learn. Could you help me please? You've cut out and made a repair to the chassis. What gauge of steel did you use and where would one go to get it?

I was looking at the pictures of your Discovery. I see that there's perforation in the floor panel between the wheel arch and the main rear floor panel. I have something similar. I'm learning, so what's the fix for this? What does one have to do to repair it?
