    Bulkhead repairs

Getting stuff galvanised isn't (or wasn't when I was doing it) as expensive as you might think. You'll have to get an idea of the approx weight to get a quote. Then you can see if it's more cost effective to get yours repaired and galvanised or but one done by someone else. Have you bought a...

    Swivel Ball seal replacement

When I did mine I jacked the end up to a high enough axle stand height, so the diff oil all stayed down the opposite end of the axle tube. Those 12 point bolts can be a complete pain to get out if they've never been off. As tottot said, soak them in RP90, but I'd repeat that process for three...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

I live in Northumberland and we still have some red squirrels here. There are a lot of red squirrel conservation groups across the North of England from The Lakes in Cumbria, to over the East coast here. I'm in the local group, so I shoot and trap grey squirrels to try and keep them out of the...

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

I've fixed me key fob. It's a bit of a story, but I haven't posted for months, so I'll go for it. I lost my keys last Wednesday. Has the usual man look for them, but no joy. The Mrs said she would look when she got home from work. Now this usually solves the mystery of lost items...

Slowly getting there with my 90

I thought the old side facing bench seats didn't, but the four individual ones did. Mine came with seat belts as original equipment (96 plate) so I'd presume they would be needed for the MOT test, on mine anyway.

Slowly getting there with my 90

Sorry, I meant did if have those seats originally? Have you got seat belts via the correct mountings that go back to the rear cross member?

Oil Pressure in Different Parts of the Engine

I was hoping not :) Yes, I replaced that at the time too. Can't remember who suggested it back then, to be honest I didn't know about it being in the system at the time, so got really excited about it as a possible solution.

Oil Pressure in Different Parts of the Engine

I can see what you're saying. I think Richard Turner's theory was that forcing the oil through the smaller hole in the shell would up the pressure within the shell. Not sure if he was meaning just that fron shell or it would do the same to all of them. Yes, it's still in place. At the time I ran...

Oil Pressure in Different Parts of the Engine

It's a 300, Lynall. Initially I suspected the turbo and then for quite a while after that. I bought a reconditioned turbo for the rebuild from a company recommended from an LZ member. When it was passing oil I contacted them and they replaced it. That one did the same so I bought a new CHRA and...

Oil Pressure in Different Parts of the Engine

Those of you have been on LZ for a while might remember me rebuilding my engine quite a few years ago now. From day 1 it was pushinh oil through the turbo seals, through the inter-cooler and on in to the engine. It was burning about 1ml of oil to the mile. ie every 200 miles I was having to top...

    BF Goodrich 265 75 16

How old are they, Brown? My old BFG AT'S were like that, can't remember how many tens of thousands of miles they had done, but they were years old, very hard and were going to take a lot more years to wear down to replacement levels. The new KO compound grips the road much better, but wears...

    1997 Defender swivel top up

As Lynall said, you'll be able to see if they are leaking as the seals on the swivel ball will build up with black gunge. This is the one shot grease leaking out passed the the broken seals on the ball and collecting crap. If this isn't apparent, then they'll be ok. If you're still worried, do...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Something must have lined back up. Or, global warming means less salt on the road o_O It's certainly a strange one! Are you still doing your long distance road trips though? I had my first UJ go about two years ago. The prop shafts and UJ's were the original 1996 ones. Because of their age I...

    Mysterious radiator

If it's gone 'clean' then you've obviously sorted the engine oil leak from the rocker. AFT gearbox oil is a pinky colour and I'm pretty sure EP90 is usually a straw colour.

    Mysterious radiator

It's clean oil, but what colour is it? When did you last have the engine and gearbox oil changed?
