That makes you go hmmm! It does sound like there has been an issue before and the focus for the pressure has been that mount, hence it gave up. How did you discover the gearbox mount needed replacing? Have you checked the vehicle for signs of crash damage? Slight mismatch of paint on different...

It's making me wonder why the first gearbox mounting snapped! Sounds like something was wrong before which snapped the first mount. 🤔

@miktdish Did you ever find out the thread size on the block for the high pressure feed pipe to the turbo? After many years of doing nowt about it, I've decided to look at oil pressure regulators.

The 300Tdi doesn't have a crank sensor. Is yours a left hand drive? It sounds smooth enough, strange that it's cutting out when you put a few revs on. I'd get some coolant in it and air filter and leave it ticking over for ages to see what happens.

That could have had nasty consequences. I'm surprised it survived the manufacturing machining processes.

Not laughing, because we've all be there at one time or another. Good luck sorting it.

The panhard rod bolts have got to be done up extremely tight, otherwise you get the symptoms you describe. When the bushes go it's like riding a wild horse, but if you've replaced the lot and you've got mild symptoms, my first port of call would be getting the socket back on the bolts.

It can be a struggle if the axle has moved on the stands. Can move easily too and it doesn't take much movement to cause a bit of hassle.
