Disco 3 (LR3) Radio, EKA codes etc.

Hi folks....Couldn't find the card with the radio and EKA codes among the handbook, service books etc. With all of the previous LR's I have owned this was present. Off I trotted today to the local main stealer armed with the Log book, Driving Licence and photo of the dogs for I.D. After hanging...

P38A Possible correlation between flat battery and no cruise control?

Fully agree..99% of the problems are down to perished/cracked rubber vac. tubing or plastic tee pieces etc. Replace them with silicone tubing-cheap enough.

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

Yes, I have those bells & whistles. The part no. is shown on Microcat as YWC500800 which is the number on the original. The label on the original has identical details, part no software version etc etc as the new one- the only thing that differs is the date of manufacture. Original is 08 and the...

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

UPDATE Nice dry day here yesterday so decided to "Remove" (tip back the drivers seat) to check the mass of wiring and connectors underneath. All the connector pins were checked for security and cleanliness, the wiring checked for damage and possible trapment-all looked good. Then decided to refit...

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

UPDATE Been a couple of days now since the new memory module was fitted (Brand new genuine LR unit, in box). After following the initialisation process and programming the seat & mirror positions, including reverse dip all appeared fine until yesterday afternoon when the original problem came...

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

Replaced the unit yesterday, took about an hour and I didn't remove the seat. As you guys rightly said, the module is located and secured to the seat base by two self tapping screws (TX25 heads). If the seat is raised to the highest position it can be easily seen at the front edge through the...

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

Hi again lynall...I suppose it's nit picking but if the function is there, it should work. When I bought the Disco I chose to buy the HSE spec and expected that all the bells and whistles would perform. I know it has cost £150 including post for a new unit but I just want things to work as they...

    Freelander 1 ABS LIGHT

I had ABS, TC fault lights and the speedo intermittently working. Turned out to be a faulty ABS sensor at the front. My 02 facelift TD4 did not have sensor rings, there is a magnetic emitter built into the wheel bearing.I just ordered two new sensors from Ebay just in case, changed the LH one...

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

Got the DVD workshop manual but not yet had chance to install it on the PC yet. As per my recent post, I am p***ed off with the LH mirror having a mind of it's own when reversing so bit the bullet and bought a new module.

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

Thanks for the megafast reply lynall...appreciated. I take it that it's under the drivers seat then ? Used to those crappy bolts. It used to take me 10 minutes to unbolt the drivers seat on the P38's, disconnect and remove the Becm's. Mind you, I was a bit more flexible in the joints then !! :D:D

Disco 3 (LR3) Memory seat control module location

Hi folks Just a quickie: Can anyone tell me where the memory seat module is located on my 08, Disco 3, HSE (R.H. drive). Is it readily accessible or does half the car have to be dismantled ??:eek:

Disco 3 (LR3) HSE Reverse dip external mirror niggle

Thanks for the input Guys. I suppose we get too reliant on using all the electronic gizmos on our cars. After selling the P38 a few years ago, which incidentally had auto dip mirrors that worked, I bought the Freelander and did not miss the feature one bit !! The feature is not safety critical...

Disco 3 (LR3) HSE Reverse dip external mirror niggle

Hi folks...2008, Disco 3, HSE There is an intermittent niggle with the L.H. door mirror when reverse is selected. I set the reverse dip position and the display tells me that it is set and stored in the memory. All will be fine for a week or so then when I select reverse, the mirror does not...

You thought I had gone away !!!

Well, after owning several Land Rovers over the years from a Classic to a V8 Disco 1, P38, Freelander TD4, I have moved up in size again and bought a TDV6, Disco 3 HSE. Must say, and some will disagree, that the Hippo gave me faultless service over the 5 years that I have had it apart from the...

Freelander 1 TD4 Clutch alignment tool dimensions

Found a photo of the gearbox on the web and there is no spigot on the input shaft, just the spline. I should be able to line the clutch plate up. If anyone has any useful tips, I would be pleased to hear them. :)

Freelander 1 TD4 Clutch alignment tool dimensions

Hi Guys...Have to replace the clutch on my 2002, TD4. I have a set of alignment tools but cannot find an adapter which will fit the Clutch plate splined boss precisely. The diameter I need is .865" and if needs be, I can get an adapter which is slightly larger turned down to suit. What I am...
