    series 1 parts

Not that easy if you don’t know the lay of the land and haven’t got someone on the ground to help out . This might be a better starting point http://www.exmod.co.uk/. I am in the opening stages of possibly importing a Series 40 Land Cruiser from Australia , but I wouldn’t even consider the...

    series 1 parts

There is a surprisingly large amount of Series One parts available . If you know where to look . It also depends what you are after . There are a number of people/companies that are remanufacturing hard to find parts . Your first port of call should be here...

You are unlikely to get an answer here as most of the inmates are modern tratter drivers. Ask your question here ...http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php, where you are more likely to get an informed reply .

Another plus vote for Steve and his crew at Undercover Covers . They made the bespoke rear tilt for my 107” back in 2016 and it is still looking good . I am hoping for many years service from it . Steve is the chap with the white shirt

Series 1 Value of project series 1 Tickford?

Mystery solved . I think . It is a GRIP Kaross built in Sweden . http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=18014.0 It is rare and , to me , highly desirable . Has the vendor given you any indication how much he/she wants ? The big dent in the roof looks like a lot of work to sort out ...

Series 1 Value of project series 1 Tickford?

Having looked through my photos I came across these two I took in 2015 at the Series One Club rally in Ashbourne . I think there are quite a few similarities ,which would suggest that it was made in Scandinavia , I think Norway . There is a name for it , but I can’t think of it at the moment . I...

Series 1 Value of project series 1 Tickford?

It is definitely not a Tickford because they were only built on 80” chassis and were not built after 1950 (I think) , they proved to be too expensive to buy and had a limited market . I would agree with the suggestion that it was a hard top conversion , probably done professionally , and not...

You should go over to the LRSOC forum and the information is there http://www.lrsoc.com/forum/index.php?topic=37018.0. However , if you are not already a member of the club you will need to join , or you will need to know someone who is a member and be a guest of them . It is a closed event...

Series 1 Is there anything savable from this S1?

Not the best example as it might give a false hope that this one could achieve anything like that price . The eBay One has been dragged back from Australia and is an 80”. Where as the 107” is unlikely to be worth more than £12,00-15,000 when done up properly , and is probably not going to get...

Series 1 Is there anything savable from this S1?

As has already been said , it is worth saving as a complete vehicle , as there is enough still useable to be able to rebuild it . Whether it is financially viable is another question . To rebuild it to a reasonable standard (but not concourse) at least £10,000 , probably nearer £15,000. If the...

About to go dig a Series 1 out of an African bush...what parts should I take?

My , now dismantled, 109” breakdown truck had a ring pull gearbox in it , which obviously was not factory fitted but probably was just what was lying around at the garage where it worked . That is why I qualified my reply by saying that it is most likely to be a petrol 2ltr in his 86” .

About to go dig a Series 1 out of an African bush...what parts should I take?

So what is happening with all of this Series One stuff that is lying around at the moment ? If it is not going to be used where it is then it makes sense (to me at least ) to get rid of it and realise some dormant capital . There is no reason why you need to take advantage of you friend , you...

About to go dig a Series 1 out of an African bush...what parts should I take?

It is highly unlikely to be a 1600 as they were superseded in about 1951 (or so) and this is a 86” which is a few years later . So the best bet is that it is a 2litre petrol engine .

About to go dig a Series 1 out of an African bush...what parts should I take?

Why are you doing this ? Just for fun or are you looking to make money out of the project ? This Series One , which model is it and is it rare ? What engine does it have in it ? Got any photos ? How are you shipping it back ? If it is in a container then ideally you should be filling it with as...

The original London to Singapore trip , if you mean the Oxford/Cambridge expedition ,was four blokes in two 86”s. Suggesting doing the North Coast 500 to someone in Cyprus is not a particularly practical suggestion as he would have to drive across Europe and the UK just to get there . He...

When you say “overlanding” you are strictly being accurate , but as most of your driving will be on tarmac you won’t even need four wheel drive . Whilst there will opportunities to go off road I can’t see you needing anything other than a stock vehicle . Most of the non tarmac driving the Team...

Right then , young man , we’ll start again . First off . Where do you intend overlanding ? I take it you plan on going further than around the island of Cyprus . How many of you going ? How long for ? Do you have any experience of this sort of thing ? How much kit do you plan on...
