    Diesel stalling in hot weather

doesn't change the fact that it was still that item that went tits up and caused that fault does it?? the FIP pumps come up on eBay from time to time I've picked a few up for pennies but now they seem to be commanding much more so the days of "it's knackered again, swap it out" are long...

    Diesel stalling in hot weather

just a quick read through this leads me to think that the FIP has or is giving up quickest fix is to replace the middle section with a second hand working one, the other solution is to replace the pump with a new one. Ask your self how much is the car worth though!

FIP Strip with lots of pictures

with the top removed you have access to the coil, using a deep 7mm socket to remove the studs will release everything remove the springs line up the shaft and you will be able to remove the coil

Remove the middle section, making working on it much easier Now undo all the red screw, and the Blue ones (they are left hand thread) you will also need to unpick the electrical connectors (purple) I used heat and a flat head screwdriver bend back the 2 wires highlighted in green

FIP Strip with lots of pictures

firstly I must say sorry for the colour of the internals of this pump, this has been run on Bio, SVO and Black diesel and is covered in gumming, no doubt the reason this pump died, however it did manage 150k miles so it's not all doom and gloom First you need to tackle the Bosch security...

M51 engine idle issue HELP !!

following up from this, today I removed the in tank pump and set up a bench test, and seemed to run fine. This is not really what I wanted as I suspected the pump was causing the idle issue.

M51 engine idle issue HELP !!

Have the same issue, if you hold the RPM at 1000 while using the left foot on the brake pedal it's fine soon as you let off the gas pedal idle bounces (like a petrol misfire) then cuts out :-/ I'm not using my RR at the min but I'm guessing it's the in tank pump causing my issue as no...
