The hourly rate is still cheaper than most in the UK. Not convinced by the 10 hours aspect however - without changing the flywheel it should only be a 4-5 hour job, I would have thought. :)

Yes...ish. I read it such that she took the kit to the garage and asked them to fit it. I may be mistaken. :D Almost 48 hours and no further comment from op. Shrugs..... :p

^ what he said. Many garages won't fit customer supplied parts coz of the hassle they can bring Generally worth paying the handling charge (if any) for the sake of the warranty aspect. :) Also - what led to you getting the kit and asking the garage to fit it? That may not have been the original...

As the insurance wasn't in your name just get them to claim that you stole it! :D

Had a laugh a few years back. Took a local farmer and his 90 to the Dealer for a wee repair job. They gave him a courtesy vehicle. Despite pleading for a Fender, or at least an older vehicle given the type of use his vehicles went through, the Dealer insisted that he take the top of the range...

Not sure what the present regs are but a couple of decades back you could get a grant for building a new house next to a ruin like that, but NOT if you were using part of the original. Made no sense to me! o_O

Banff itself doesn't get that much snow - but getting there could be interesting. Same with the Tongue area....pretty sheltered and coastal...but the route to it can be problematic. To be honest tho, we are not expecting much in the way of bad weather this side of Ne'erday - and that suits me...

Where and when are you going? No snow forecast for here...and gritter crews have been stood down for the foreseeable. Plenty of rain in the next 48 hours tho :)
