Does it do it only immidiately after you drive it hard? Fuel level dropping due to insufficient supply or needle valve too restrictive

With a diesel you *basically* just squirt more in, yet with petrol engine, mixture and timing wise right is right, you have to improve flow, like head ports and valves, manifolds....

Level *should* sit above the core in the radiator, if it's only 1/4" down from the top of the core i wouldn't worry if its not doing anything else untoward, ideally should sit very roughly 2" down from neck

When it's on the front of the radiator, not turned on and tour driving along, it is just slowing down and disturbing the air, therefore not cooilng the radiator quite as well, meaning it has to come on more often. Most electric fans especially cheap ones are really not designed to run for long...

If you put an electric fan on ideally have it after the radiator as it will have less of a windmilling effect when it's not switched on

Have you looked at the prop or props if your in 4wd which you shouldn't be on the road with no centre diff. Does the rattling/tinkling sound like pinking? if so what fuel have you got in it and how old is it, what timing figures have you got at idle, say 2500 and nearly maximum rpm?

Do you know if it was running sensibly in its old vehicle, if it was, ask yourself whats different from the old vehicle? the exhaust? the intake? fuel supply? has it been stood for any length of time? is the fuel relatively new?
