Freelander 1 Before I replace clutch master/slave system.....

MGF hydraulic slave cylinder mounts never fail - but they have a different design to the Freelander. I've not done enough research (i.e. none) so I don't know whether the MG clutch release system can be used on the Freelander?

    Freelander 1 Alloy wheel compatibility...

As I recall, if the wheel has dimples between the wheel stud holes, you have a wheel that will fit - as a rule of thumb, this works pretty well (although, as with all rules of thumb, there are exceptions!)

    Freelander 1 low speed wine

Not sure what the problem here is, but may be worth flushing the gearbox, IRD and diff and replacing with fresh oil, if only for peace of mind? The breathers on our Freelanders are very low - I am sure someone somewhere will have made breather extensions - anyone have any links?

Freelander 2 (LR2) Freelander 2 diesel starting on 3 cylinders, now running properly, after cylinder head change.

I think that is the difference between an OEM manufacturer and some unbranded parts that you don't know the source of... could be good, could be a disaster. Not worth the risk in an engine.

What have you done to your Freelander today

That's super strange. I am not familiar with this engine - is this a direct injection engine with injector ports close to the water jacket and head gasket?

Freelander 1.8 K series hgf - more data

I agree. Super difficult to get a Payen BW750 gaskets these days, so the DMGRS alternative may be the best route presently.

Freelander 1.8 K series hgf - more data

Liner drop is not such a big problem in my experience, but it is true that the liner may not have a 2 thou stand-proud that you will need if you plan to use a multi-layer head gasket - and if that is the case, the elastomeric Payen gasket is definitely the one to go for. :) I personally have...

    Freelander 1 My Winter Project

Strange that they are not concentric: they'd presumably have been like that from the factory? Changing the valve seats is not something that I've attempted - generally this is a task you hand over to a machine shop.

Freelander 1 Brake Pipe Flares - Share of Knowledge

Completely agree - this is a brilliant little tool - made pipes for the servo to ABS pump on my MG - perfect each time and made the brake pipe forming a pleasure!
