After a clean up, I’ll fit it to the new sill after measuring it to make it the same as the other side. Then I’ll move on to the’c’ pillar and fit it up with the new YRM repair sections. They will need some fettling to make them ready for paint at that point, but at least they are solid!

I fitted the new YRM sections on the drivers side, then I drilled out the top seatbelt strengthening channel from the rusted out pillar, then installed it into the refurbished one. This will allow me to use more modern seatbelts safely, which is always good :)

Made a bit more progress on the passengers side frame, after trial fitting on the chassis to make sure that I got the angles correct. Thankfully it’s a good fit! After the trial fit, I welded it up and moved to the other side.

Thanks very much for your reply. Some great information there and certainly some findings regarding the differences that I wouldn’t have thought of! The prices on eBay still seem to be reasonable, and I didn’t want to splash out of a subframe I can’t make fit. Would love to see the differences...

Just wondering if you fitted an Evoque rear subframe as I have a similar issue with my 2011 F2? I’ve checked the LR website and the part numbers are completely different. Am I overthinking this and they are pretty much interchangeable? Cheers

As I was on a roll, I fitted the heater motor and the ‘a’ pillar special nuts for the hinges. It’s great to be fitting bits that have been lying around for ages :)

Once stripped, it looked a bit better, as at least I could see what was left! I took the passengers side panel off first by drilling out the spot welds using a 3/16” drill. I also build up the battery box, again using the YRM supplied 3/16” rivets and some sealant/adhesive from Toolstation.
