I had the use of my friends 200tdi 90 for a bit for trialing. The heater never warmed up and it didn't have a fan to cool it but even green laning it would barley get past the cold mark

Cheers for that. Sounds like sound advice to me. I would love a 300TDi soft dash but they are around a grand more. If I get board of the 200 noise I can, hopefully soon, take my V8 RRC out. Saint.V8 I got most of what you said but can you confirm the HGF bit please.
