    How to avoid LEZ

Sorry mate your buggered - you can only get the DVLA to reclassify the 110 to an estate if it was an estate when it left the factory. Although from October I won't be living in London (moving out towards Guildford) I'm still trying to get the DVLA to change it to estate in case I get done...

    Anti roll Bars

No idea - another thread on it over here: Anti Roll Bars I think it's going to depend a lot on your testing station.

which 4x4 / big car to buy?

Depending on what you're willing to spend it might be worth having a look at some of the 110's here: The County and Defender Centre, Hinckley, 4x4 Sales Bought my 300Tdi 110CSW from there for ~£8k and it's been very reliable. Only "major" issue that's happened to it was that the turbo blew up...

which 4x4 / big car to buy?

Think you might have got that the wrong way around - Shoguns came with locking diffs as standard whereas Pajeros don't. IIRC Shoguns are built in either Britain or Japan whereas the Pajeros are built in other countries in the world (Cyprus I think).

    Defender insurance at 17???

If only that were the case - they've (recently?) stopped taking on standard 110 station wagons. Tried to get a quote off them a few days ago and they can't insure anything with more than 8 seats - so that's every 110 station wagon before the TDci they're excluding

    Insurance Quotes

I just had the same - can't insure an 9 seater but can insure a 10. NFU were suprisingly helpful but just not competitive for my age. I spoke to them about the mods (raised intake and winch / winch bumper) and she knew what they were. Couldn't find them on the system so confirmed they didn't...

    Insurance

Just renewed the insurance on the 110 and was contemplating fitting a Thatcham Category 1 immobiliser / alarm to it for my own piece of mind as I didn't get too bad a quote off one company. However putting in a Cat1 made no difference to "no security" so it's something I may do later but not for...

Photo of my turbo impeller - Is it knackered?

Same thing happened to me (300Tdi 110) - garage that did a service on the vehicle dropped a sump plug washer into the wrong side of the air filter. Thankfully they admitted responability and fitted a new one. See this linky for piccys. Cause of destroyed turbo? - LR4x4 - The Land Rover Forum

Defender 110's - tell me more!

Probably :p - that or a V8 I know for a fact that I can get 350 miles on ¾ of a tank. I don't tend to let the fuel drop too low since I don't have a low-fuel warning light (haven't investigated properly but under all the mud could only see two wires coming off the sender). That coupled with the...

Defender 110's - tell me more!

At current prices? Was on empty a couple of weeks ago (lowest I've had it since owning it) and filled up at a reasonable price (138.9 p/l I think) and was just under £100. It's got a 65L tank as standard so you can do the maths (probably another litre or three in the pipes). In terms of miles...

Want to swap my CSW panels for Utility Panels

He's thinking of doing a direct swap (from a 110 CSW Utility) rather than putting 90 sides on so you'd hope they'd be a straight swap!

What tyres does your Landy have?

265/75R16 BFG ATs on the 110 (well worth the money) Some remould thingies on the Series (dirt cheap and fantastic in the mud)

Big boy tyres... help please :D

Sometimes they're false economy. Unfortunately you can't really find out until you've bought them and run them. I know we've tried cheaper versions of the BFG A/Ts on our 4x4s and the BFGs work out cheaper by a long run because they last for so damn long. Current set on the 110 have done 19k...
