Since the fuel tank is about 17.5 gallons and I get 32mpg from the disco transfer boxed 110. I think that means I could get 560 miles from a tank full. But I never run it below a quarter so I've not measured it.

Mine will go a little faster than most due to a disco transfer box, it just takes a long time to get there .It will cruise at 70mph, but I won't drive faster because the tanker for in flight refuelling that I'd need running alongside, wouldnt be able to keep up. .

There are plenty out there but I'd recommend galvanised

I too use soft shackles for sailing, there are many videos online on making your own soft shackles . With practice you can make several per hour.. Vastly cheaper than bought and then you know If it's made correctly .

Motorway? This is Norfolk, Its 90miles to the nearest motorway from where I live. And 20 to the nearest dual carriageway . I do tow 1.5 tons occasionally of boat and not had a problem, however I rarely get to 60mph before the next turning. . Oh and of course steep hills are somewhat rare.. ...

Ive a 200tdi with a disco transfer box I seriously doubt you'd need a raised 5th gear as well. With 235/85 R16 and the disco box you don't normally get into 5th until 40mph anyway..

Put a partition behind the driver and keep what heat there is in the front. .It makes a big difference. ..

No they don't , a combination of sealant and Captain Tolleys creeping crack cure, solved it for me. I had a leak by the top of the door seal. So I greased the frame and pu sealant into / on the door seal , then shut the door and left it to dry. . That fixed it.
