What did you do with your Range Rover today

I think currently I'd lose more fuel down the road than I'd use driving! Flat bed only right now hahaha. I don't mind being a test subject :D

What did you do with your Range Rover today

MPG dropped from 30 down to 26 mpg. Hmmm one suspects an FIP seal leak as I saw this happen before. Look underneath once I'm home, wet patch, then drip. Open bonnet look at the lower lozenge shaped cover drip drip drip appears to be on both of them. Bugger. Off to France on 25th May :rolleyes...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Drove 480 miles in 24 hours and got 29.5 mpg:cool::D Never seen that before when I've been driving. steady 2,200rpm and trying to avoid the motorway knobbers that go 70 brake, 44 brake, zoom brake, then suddenly go to 55 mph from 70 then off back to 70mph again.......

running out of get up and go.

There was quite a bit of resistance on mine. I couldn't get that plug out then finally..........pop! Out it came. Your mileage may vary though :D

Mine is almost as bad as that hahaha

P38A GEMS 4.6 lpg or DSE for long trips?

I have the TT to use but I don't want to rack that sort of mileage up on it. I'll stick with my DSE as I like engaging cruise and trundling up our national car park network :D Is there a damper on the v8 that isn't on the diesel then? I find that at 60 - 75 mph the DSE is pretty much unbeatable...

P38A GEMS 4.6 lpg or DSE for long trips?

Yeah, that's why I sold the XKR. It's too easy to use the gee-gee's under your foot! Damn good fun too hahahaha. Punishes you at the bank though. I used to get 25-28mpg out of that V8 4ltr lump. Driving it never bothered me. I used to cry stuck in traffic jams though watching the fuel gauge...

P38A GEMS 4.6 lpg or DSE for long trips?

I have tried 2,200 rpm - 2,500 rpm (depending on load of the car) as I'm sure I read that peak torque is the most efficient, but if I'm pulling the trailer and fully loaded a stick around 60 - 65mph on the peage's as there is no need to keep stopping like on our bloody motorway's. Smart...

P38A GEMS 4.6 lpg or DSE for long trips?

Thanks for the replies, it's a shame as it's a nice car too. I'll keep Rommel going then. Must get the heater box swapped out though and the dancing locks and the xyz switch and the headlining and the new heated windscreen that actually heats the drivers side..... Yes you are right, I do know...

P38A GEMS 4.6 lpg or DSE for long trips?

I have a chance for a 4.6 LPG (multipoint) and have spoken with the owner. The only problem he knows of is the HEVAC book comes on and goes off. New block with top hats fitted and head gaskets swapped out in the last 12 months. Is this a good buy for 600 miles a week commuting? Cornwall to...

P38A Heater Feed hose, I didn't know it existed

What did you do with your Range Rover today

After a near miss with a myopic old tw*t that pulled straight out on me onto a 60mph main road I started to get brake squeak. So I swapped all brake pads and fought hard to remove recalcitrant guide pins, then swapped out front guide pins and cleaned up the rear ones, all slippery now. Good job...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Removed the borrowed MAF sensor and installed my new one. Different to OEM, it's a copper plate rather than a filament wire. Much better now. Hot start kit stopped working so had some investigation to do. Tightened all the connectors and refitted the hot start kit correctly after I noticed that...

P38A Heater Feed hose, I didn't know it existed

If that one has rotted through check your front one as well. Turner Engineering do one inc postage circa £11. I have had a rear pipe made up for me, luckily my Heath Robinson field repair has held up so not changed them yet. Will do shortly as another trip to Rochechouarte coming up, that 1500...

P38A DSE autobox - ideas please. It was going too well.... SOLVED

I know you did mate and I'm only adding this so if anyone else gets the same / similar problems instead of having gearbox heart attacks like I did, can check the MAF sensor first :D:cool:

P38A DSE autobox - ideas please. It was going too well.... SOLVED

Update: Borrowed a mates MAF and voila! No more errors on the Nanocom. With my Nano connected and my dodgy MAF disconnected I get: Airflow sensor invalid value meter Type: Too low, logged, current RPM = 32 Water temp = 66 Occurance = 10 With MAF connected no fault found but no power at all...
