1987 110 ex mod - engine cuts out while driving.

The female spade connectors can get loose. You can pull them off the male terminals and squash them a little with pliers to tighten them up.

    EGR removal from wolf

Removal of emissions equipment may cause issues at MOT time, I doubt that there is any real benefit in removing it.

    Series 1 109 body, defender 110 chassis

I think that the Series 1 Station Wagons were all 107", but the general LWB Series 1's went from 107" to 109" when the SWB went from 86" to 88". The length of the body is the same on both variants, it is just the position of the front axle that moves.

    Series 1 109 body, defender 110 chassis

You do not need a IVA / SVA for a body swap, however I imagine that the bulkhead outriggers are slightly wider on the 110 than a Series !, so you would have to modify the chassis. A modified Series 1 body would probably fit on an unmodified Discovery 1 chassis with a bit of thought.

    Centre seats doesn't fit

I think that the issue is that the outer seats are the same width, but mounted an inch closer to the centre of the vehicle, hence the narrower centre seat on later vehicles.

    Centre seats doesn't fit

Later seats are slightly closer together than the earlier ones, to give more elbow room at the doors. Do you hane an early centre seat?

    I think I’ve brought a ringer……..

You can come up with as many theories as you want, but it is a stolen 300tdi.

    LEZ withdrawing exemption.

The gross weight 2999kg relates to the estate variant, which may be why they have said that it is exempt previously, the utility 110 is 3050kg. Looking at your V5, it has not been a military vehicle, it has always been registered with DVLA..

    A 1972 headache...

If it has gone wrong after you have done major work on the vehicle, it is probably something minor that you have done. Check everything systematicaly before you condem the gearbox.

Van/mini bus seats in the back of a 90?

Insurance could be an issue, as every policy that I have taken out has asked how many seats the vehile has and if it has been modified. I suspect that your insurance may get a little giddy if they discover that you have fitted extra seats into the rear of a soft top commercial vehicle without...

Van/mini bus seats in the back of a 90?

It is very easy to do a 5hit and dangerous installation, but look at standard Land Rover rear seats if you want to do them properly. All the factory fitted Land Rover rear seats that I have seen, have included some sort of framework to tie the seatbelts onto the chassis. The other issue, that...

    on the level

The problem is that the front suspension is more or less fully laden all the time and the rear is designed to take an extra 3/4 tonne. When they haver a bit of weight on, they do sit quite a bit lower. The fronts do look like the top or bottom three coils are coil bound, but this is normal.

    Series 2 engine recommission

Before you try and start it, I would assume that the carb jets will be gummed up or corroded. You would probably save a lot of wasted effort by splitting the carb and cleaning / clearing the jets. Clean up the points with some emery paper and check for a spark. If you have a spark and it won't...

Brake drum removal bolt size 5/16 NC or 3/8 NC

You can get plastic brake pipe clamps. They look like pliers and you clamp the flexible pipe nearest to the pipe you are disconnecting, which reduces the amount that leaks. I would factor in two new brake cylinders as well as thyey often seize, which would also explain why the drums don't want...

    on the level

I have a ex-military 110 and the rear is really high on that. I am not sure if the military use standard spring rates or heavy duty. As I run mine pratically empty I had a look for softer springs, but the bigggest problem is that the 110 uses wider springs than 90's and Discovery's. The softest...

    Wolf bonnet restoration.

How much work would be involved in removing the bonnet skin? You could then get to the rear of the frame to rust proof it, particularly around any repairs. Your framework does not seem to be in too bad a condition overall.

    Burnt out - rebuild

I think that the concentration of damage around the driver's side wing will be down to the brake fluid reservoir. Brake fluid is mega-inflammable. I would try and start the engine before you start pulling it out, you may be pleasantly surprised.

    Burnt out - rebuild

It is also worth considering that if you have made wiring modifications and it has had an electrical fire, your insurance company will probably refuse to pay out, unless you have declared them. That could result in you having a claim record at renewal time and no payout.

    Burnt out - rebuild

Probably easier not to bother with your insurance company, they WILL write it off, they won't consider repairing it. You have to consider how much extra it will cost you for loss of no-claims bonus and your excess.
