    As others have said, keep an eye on it, leaking injectors can let carbon build up around the injectors and jam them in. I have seen pictures of vans being lifted off the ground while trying to get stuck injectors out.

    Before you start spending money, check that the noise isn't being caused by contamination on the fan-belt. Spray a little bit of water on the belt and see if the noise goes.

    I would use whichever is the best gearbox. You can fit the 300tdi to your existing gearbox, but you have to get new engine mounts, modify the exhaust and some of the coolant and PAS pipes. Google Glencoyne Engineering, they have plenty of information.

    You will need a 300tdi front section, the middle and rear sections are far too small. As full 300 exhaust is the only real option, although you may need to modify the mounting brackets.

    If you bin the self-levelling unit you must also replace the rear springs as they are a lot softer than the non-assisted suspension. I had a trials motor built from a shortened Range Rover chassis, I retained the self levelling unit and it worked well in extreme conditions.
