Anti-theft Fob Signal Blocker Pouch, anyone have them?

Not much good for the D2, at least. There's no receiver in the fob, it's just a transmitter so there's no way that any external circuit can communicate with or interogate it. If the screening cover is any good then you're going to have to take the fob out to press the buttons to open or lock the...

    discovery 2 air compressor

As @sierrafery has already said, there isn't a "cut-out" component, it's a bit of electronic programming in the SLABS ECU which when it detects that the compreesor has been running for too long; beyond its duty cycle, it will stop the compressor and will not allow it to be restarted until the...

who has the highest bhp on the forum?

You don't have to keep doing this you know, you've got plenty of points to allow you to advertise yer tat in the "For sale" section. Whether anybody will want to buy it is, of course another matter.

Getting My First LandRover - Any Advice?

I've just re-read the original post, "Suspension all working, and wheels adjusted with spacers, vehicle slightly lowered." There are a couple of things there that would worry me. a) wheels adjusted, what does that mean? b) the mention of spacers, I presume wheel spacers? If that's the case then...

    Disco 2 help please

@neilly has done a very good write-up and it's well worth taking a look at. You will need a reader for .pdf files such as "Adobe Reader" it is free. Don't be put off by the self levelling suspension, it's a good system and quite easy to understand. In fact there are some members here on the...

who has the highest mileage land rover on the forum?

I should think it's one of those series ones that's gone about three times round the clock.

    Disco 1 V8 - Throttle Potentiometer fault???

There's no reason why you couldn't use a good second user one. Try a search for "Gentlemen of Salvage". They appear to have a reasonable reputation, as far as second hand parts sellers go.

    Horn discrepancy

Maybe somebody has changed the buttons on one of your discos in the past. My 2004 D2 original horn buttons had little dimples on them but the plastic "fingers" holding them in place went faulty and they used to pop out. The new horn buttons have no pattern now. So who's to know? It's not as if...

Disco 1 300tdi es heated mirrors?.

If a continuity check of the mirror elements shows OK then the next check is going to be looking for power, use a test light or a multimeter. If there's no volts then you're into the wiring. I tend to think in terms of where's the most stress, electrical or mechanical? Mechanical stress could...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Nonsense, it can be quite therapeutic, especially when you're faced with a 3600 wire telephone cable!

    Disco 1 V8 - Throttle Potentiometer fault???

Although I have no experience with the V8 engine, as an electronics engineer I can say that generally there are two sorts of problems which usually afflict potentiometers are either a dirty or scratched track which can result in "noisy" operation, causing the voltages or the signal to jump about...

Disco 1 300tdi es heated mirrors?.

As @lynall has suggested, pop the mirrors out and check the continuity of the heating elements and the power to them. There's no reason at all to assume that a fault on one device will take out any of the other devices on the circuit. The only parts of the circuit which are "common to all" are...

Holes in my hood / bonnet??

That's highly unlikely, the only two holes in the bonnet of every Disco that I've ever seen are for the windscreen washer jets, and they aren't round, nor do they have a grommet lining them.

    Guys I have bought a td5 disco 2 it's imobilised it's self

As @1988smithy has asked, do you have the EKA code? On the Td5 Disco 2, don't expect to find the intruder alarm/immobiliser, it's all built into the body control unit (BCU). For more information about the immobiliser check out @neilly's excellent post at:-...

Holes in my hood / bonnet??

No idea, you'd probably be best asking the bloke who drilled them. They aren't a standard fit set of holes.

Disco 2 Rear N/S Door Lock Actuator

I should have added, should you drop it inside the door it's probably lost for ever. The little metal linkage thingy eating monster will have it.

Disco 2 Rear N/S Door Lock Actuator

Take a tip from one who knows, there's a little bent wire link between the outer door handle and the latch assembly. Don't leave it just dangle, remove it completely and put it in your pocket. If you should let it drop, trust me you'll probably never see it again.

Getting My First LandRover - Any Advice?

I run a Disco 2, and sadly I can only fix things standing up these days, just a fact of life after some surgeons and old father time have had their fun. Annually, apart from the usual things like insurance and diesel, etc it can cost at least £350 to pay my garage for a service and MoT. I get a...

    Fitting (hardwired) a dash cam

I see that the OP is concerned about vandalism. OK, the police might be able to use dashcam footage, but if he wants to involve his insurance company they might prefer that the cameras were installed by professional installers, and produce the paperwork to show that this is the case.
