    Disco 2 won’t turn over

Yeah, the Freelander 2 does turn over quite nicely, especially when hit in the side by a Kia peoplemover!:D

    Disco 2 Headlights

I can't be sure, but I think that the dipped headlights on the facelift D2 staying on while the main beams are active is something to do with them being essentially separate lights, unlike the combined lights of the earlier models. The dipped headlight being the legal requirement, not the main...

Reusing brake fluid used for bleeding brakes?

For any moisture to evaporate off, it must have somewhere to evaporate to. In the braking system the moisture is sealed in and as the brakes warm up, yes the heat will cause the moisture to form water vapour, but it has nowhere to go. So it just forms little bubbles in the fluid. Bubbles which...

    warning lights

Actually the 3 amigos does have an effect on vehicle performance, in that once they have been triggered the ABS then runs in a stand-by mode. Your brakes will work well enough on ordinary dry roads, but if you find yourself needing the anti-locking system, it won't be there. There are a number...

    Rear prop donut

The rear doughnut is fairly easy to replace on its own. Use only a GKN unit. When the new item is fitted, make sure that it's installed the right way round, there are little arrows on the outside which should point to the mating faces. New bolts and nyloc nuts are usually supplied. For some...

TC, ABS and HDC come on in driving

There are a number of things that can cause the "3 amigos", some of which can be left for a little while and others which should be addressed more or less immediately. Unless you know exactly the cause of the lights it's not easy to answer your question, but bear in mind that these lights are...

Disco 2 Front wheel hub nut removal - help

Last time I needed to remove a hub nut, I let my local garage show me how it was done, and very educational it was too. However what with getting older and the memory not being what it was, next time I need to remove another hub nut, they'll have to show me again. :D

    Other 12v tyre inflators recommendations?.

This was a discussion on the forum just a couple of weeks ago. Leave the cheap plastic ones where they are, they're OK for things like the Ford KA and beach balls but not much more. Start looking at the offerings from T-Max.

Disco 2 Location of a Disco 2 Td5 version of RAVE?

I'm so disappointed and sorry to hear that you're using crApple products, RAVE doesn't work on them, in which case you'll have to talk to @sierrafery about the .pdf files. There is one advantage of having an old PC laptop, especially for items like RAVE where you don't mind scratching up a 200...

Disco 2 Location of a Disco 2 Td5 version of RAVE?

If you still have trouble, I have put a copy of the Disco 2 RAVE with the Td5 engine on my dropbox at:- https://www.dropbox.com/s/pfelgrwf512udnj/Rave%20%28Discovery%20II%20_%20Freelander%20%2701%29.iso?dl=0

Anti roll bar on 2" lif

Why should it be such an apparent surprise that the Disco 2 were ever available without ACE?

    Has anyone lowered a LR?

Then there were those eejits on that TV program who "slammed" that Series 3 as low as it could go. What a mess!

    Disco 2 Very stiff steering

Taking into account all of the problems, the best way you can sort this out is to find somebody else to do the job. I would of course expect you to assist all that you can, you can do the grunting when they do the lifting, you could even insert the odd sharp intake of breath at the appropriate...

    Disco 2 Very stiff steering

In this case, the first things to check are the small U/Js on the column. You could also try disconnecting the steering system at the taper joint at the end of the steering box drop-arm to the drag link so that you can check the column without the additional loading from the wheels.

M and S flashing light problem

At the risk of sounding like I'm trying to rub it in, this is from the Nanocom user's manual for the Valeo BCU on the Disco 2:-

    BCU problem

On the D2, that isn't the case. The immobiliser is built onto the BCU circuit board and very tightly integrated into the operation of the BCU. The small box deep in the centre console can be found on the D1.

    BCU problem

+1 ^^^^ Total urban myth. As far as we know there is no special over-riding EKA code.

M and S flashing light problem

There is a setting in the system where the instrument cluster can be set for manual or automatic. I have done it for one member some time ago, he was suffering exactly the same problem, flashing M&S lights on a replacement cluster removed from an auto and fitted on his manual vehicle.

M and S flashing light problem

In almost all cases of the 3 amigos a code reader will be required to diagnose the fault condition(s) existing. Even if you know where the trouble lies, you will still need a code reader to clear any logged historic faults.
