    P38A EAS question!

I used a tent peg puller to get the top R clip out. All it did was break off the end of the clip. Then I soaked it in Plus Gas and used a pair of long reach bent nose pliers. They seem to be able to get into the space around the bag. I could twist the remaining pin to work it loose. Had the...

They weren't cheapo plugs. I had already read the advice on here. I think they were NGK.

    P38A Glow plug checks

The colder weather has brought an issue I have been ignoring to the surface. When cold the Rangie does not like starting at all. Even after 3-5 cycles of the glow plugs I need to continue cranking it until it just starts to pick up and then as it climbs to standard tick-over there is a large...

    P38A Thermostat 2.5 DSE

Mine was under cooling and rarely getting above the blue on the temp gauge until I had a water leak on the Water pump. As everything was off I replaced Thermostat at the same time. It now runs with the gauge steadfast at 12 o'clock. I think the main question is still how long is it running...

Other How many Land Rovers have you had in the past 5 years?

1 and a half Rangies for me. Bit like Triggers broom given the amount of parts I have changed!

    P38 Diesel 2000 plate glowplugs

Or move the wire too much as I found out, it could be corroded and break if moved.

P38A Can the air suspension be controlled without the entire wiring loom?

Didn't they put air bags on a classic in Car SOS? Don't know how it worked though. Also do the tech docs for Nanocom give any help?

Recommendation of main dealer Oxon Bucks Berks

There is a main stealer in Hemel Hempstead but its nearer Bovingdon than Hemel. Don't know what they are like though. Also have a look at Kings Langley Land Rover. They are indies. Also don't know what they are like.

    P38A Eas compressor

Its not a difficult job at all when I could do it. Just beware loosening mounting nuts on compressor you can unscrew the mounting point if the nuts are tight or corroded.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I thought the oil leaks were a 'feature' of the diesel. One of my MOT's the mechanic said that he commented the oil leaks but they were probably there when the car left the factory.

    P38A Stuck air bag

All sorted, ran it for a moment until air bag went into shape. Checked it over and ran it up to pressure. All looks OK for now.

    P38A Stuck air bag

I have the airbag in place with the clips secured. The bag however is a little creased. Is it OK to start to partially inflate the bag while axle is still dangling to force the bag into shape. I seem to have it in my head that it cannot be creased but cannot see how without a bit of pressure in it.

    P38A Stuck air bag

Managed to finally shift it. Bought a great big cold chisel which was wide enough to put enough pressure on it. A quick prise with the crowbar then shifted it. Cleaned area and gave it a quick spray with hammerite to stop it happening again.

    P38A Stuck air bag

Tried attaching a ratchet strap to the bottom and hitting the top but with no luck. My crowbar slides over the top of the air inlet after hitting it with a hammer a few times but may try a thicker bar before chiseling it out. I do feel like Nevil Longbottom in Harry Potter when I try to do any...

    P38A Stuck air bag

Sorry for what is probably a repost of many times but the search is returning an error. I am trying to replace the rear air bags. I have removed the top and bottom pins plus the air I to the bag. The bottom of the bag has come away without any problem but the top refuses to budge an inch. The...

P38A Air spring set costs more than individual items at Island

But if you buy 4 individual items (2 front and 2 rear) its £180 but the set of 4 is £187.49. Both come with free delivery so it costs more to buy the set. I expect that they have done this as most people buy all 4 in one go.

Its a 99 so can swap. The thread started out as a general comment about prices so never thought of adding my car details.

P38A Air spring set costs more than individual items at Island

Cheers for the offer Jules I will txt you. I do have a ride height sensor jumping about with its readings and will swap it with the one on the other side to check if its the wiring or the sensor (as advised on this forum) whilst changing the bags.

P38A Air spring set costs more than individual items at Island

Thanks Wammers, I didn't expect to calibrate but I did want to check heights after replacing the bags. I think I have already read the block measurements somewhere so that was where I was thinking of differing front and rear heights.

P38A Air spring set costs more than individual items at Island

@Datatek - The height figures you gave in your guide. I assume they are the same for front and back as it is just one value listed. I always assumed that the front heights were different to the rear heights.
