Rear air bags help and advice

For me it was a case of driving the bag away with a bloody big chisel and a crowbar. Hammered the chisel in between top of bag and bodywork, This didn't move the bag so got the crowbar in as well. It did let go all of a sudden. Just make sure you clean up the recess before refitting new bag. I...

    P38A AirCon

That's what I was thinking about @kermit_rr . You replace the condenser take it to be filled and there are further leaks in the system. So you have to go back to have the system charged again and sort the leaks out. I just wondered f there was a way to test an empty system at home before...

    P38A AirCon

How would you home test the fixes to ensure everything is leak free i.e identify additional issues with the system aftwer fitting the condenser? Going to the aircon garage every time would prove expensive.

    P38A Starter motor

I think there is some confusion. I ordered my replacement starter a couple of years ago, bendix would not disengage, and AllParts gave me a different a different one. I couldn't tell you what it was but the fittings were completely different, I assumed that it was just the V8 starter they gave...

    P38A Boot actuator connections

Just an update. Got round to looking at it today . So tried the release button as I have almost everytime I have driven since the release failed. Guess what, it decided to work. WTF! The plug to the loom looked brand new inside so didn't do anything to it. All I did was spray Plus Gas into...

    P38A EAS expert in Herts/Beds

Look at the suspension post in the tech section. There are a set of steps you need to follow before assuming its the pump e.g the pump may be worn after constantly working due to a leaky airbag. You can force the pump to run by jumping a relay, but cannot remember off the top of my head. With...

    P38A Boot actuator connections

Thanks Datatek an DT. I was going by Wammers post and ruling out the other parts. Now it looks like it is the button or release mechanism. Really don't fancy trying to get the boot open from the inside! Hoped I could unplug a connection in the loom, pass a current and get the boot to pop.

    P38A Boot actuator connections

I was just reading RAVE and it states that fuse 15 also provides for other components such as rear wiper. Just to double check my thoughts. If the rear wiper is working then fuse 15 is OK. I really dont want to touch the BECM unless absolutely necessary.

Can I rule out the CDL switch if the other doors operate correctly i.e grounding is good?

    P38A Boot actuator connections

Looking for a bit of guidance from the experienced. Are there any easily accessible connectors between the boot actuator and the BECM. The boot lock button has given up, no noise when pressed, so wanted to pop it open by putting a voltage through it to trigger the lock mechanism. At my age I...

P38A What model do you have?

I have a DHSE but some idiot in the past has tried to pass it off as an Autobiography by adding the sticker to the back and on the center console. I don't know what it was supposed to come with but it suits me fine.

Other What tools do you carry with you every day

I started out my Rangie ownership over 3 years ago with an empty boot. Over time I have filled the boot with various tools as problems occurred. However I have realized that I now carry an almost full service set of tools 'Just in case'. What do you all consider necessary and what do you...
