Cheers again Datatek. Looking at the oil cooler it looks like the lower pipe has corroded and developed a leak or the O ring has failed. Both pipes have huge scales of rust on them so it looks like I was lucky to be near home when it went and avoided a siezed engine.

The pipe were until one burst, now they are black and shiney on top with a corroded alloy core!.

Cheers everyone I suspected it would be a new cooler and pipes. Just one question. Do I need to order O rings for both ends of each pipe?

Its the engine oil cooler. its all black and shiney by the power steering reservoir.
