    Just use clear silicone

I use a magnet. Steel sticks, rust doesn’t.

    Diff lock

No lt230 went in a 90/110/130 without difflock.

    Need to change shocks

Heat and proper penetrating oil will do the job, alongside a breaker bar

    Manual swap to Auto TD5

Yes, you will need to go onto the D2BC and have a look. Its not cheap but is doable.

Good work and nice to see investment in a D2

Disco 2 Sitting on back wheels

If its dead anyway just crowbar it out or split the base with a chisel

Disco 2 Steering Knuckle Ball Joints

Neilsen kit is the one, similar to the Cromwell one. I have one ready to tackle my ball joints this summer, like this https://toolshouse.co.uk/products/neilsen-tool-set-ball-joint-service-tool-ct1947 Its very robust to be fair. You also need something robust to separate the knuckle. Watch the...

    ACE Bypass (a guide?)

I carry an idler and appropriate belt should my ACE spring a leak when im out and about. At least you could get to a garage or home without frying the pump.

    Should I get a D2?

Good D2s are going for more than folks on here realise. Land cruisers (we get the Prado here) are soulless cars, and both them and the Shogun are independent suspension vehicles. Thats fine around town but compared to a D2 the capabilities of the suspension offroad are in different leagues...

    M57 into discovery 3?

That v6 engine is not a Land Rover engine, its PSA/Ford i think. Im no expert but having to remove the body to replace a turbo hints towards there being a better solution.

    Disco 3 (LR3) Catch can

There is a theory that catch cans are a self fulfilling prophecy, in that they increase crankcase pressure thus increasing oil blow by and therefore you think they are doing you a favour. Who knows. All i can say is that on my Td5, there is not a great deal of oil reaching my Intercooler and i...

Disco 2 Anyone used Extreme 4x4 for parts?

I have the Extreme 4x4 front bumper. Great bit of kit no fitment issues and powder coating is good quality. They have been around a while and if you recall the top gear Bolivia special, they supplied the parts for Clarksons Range Rover Classic

D2 TD5 cranking with no fire...

Check pressure by using an oil pressure tester put in place of the temp sensor on the FPR. Should be 4 bar

    Discovery 2 air suspension

    Not recommended to do that.

    Disco 2 Flex plate/torque converter

You can buy the TC from breakers, but they fetch good money. Charles (cn4x4) on ebay does do them but they are £££ plus you will still need the fitting kit and to cut a hole in the bell housing

    Ride height sensors?? TD5

You need a Nanocom or Hawkeye etc… to see what the sensors are reading.

Disco 2 Low ratio switch wrong

No it’s normal don’t worry, my Hawkeye output is confusing and wrong way round also

    Transmission Swap

I would email Ashcroft. I guess its possible in theory, but you would need to use compushift which is £1k.
