Yeah, the cam bearings was going to be the next thing to replace, but its a big job for a have a go hero who don't know much, like me.. Much easier to change the engine and sort the old engine at my leisure..

Its been llike it since I have had it. I got loads of advice from peeps on here about it after starting a fred. I changed the main n crank bearings as well as replacing the oil pump spring, but I still got low oil pressure, so its become a quirk for me.. I have to sit at the traffic lights...

oh yeah, I have the oil light coming on below 1500 revs.

Haha, some good ones there.. Got to love em eh.. I had forgotten about the gearbox on mine. All the gears will select, but its easy to find the wrong gear. First n reverse are the worst. Much gear crunching when anyone other than me drives.. Keep them coming :0)

I have in my head that if the brakes fail n pumping them doesnt work n going down through the gears isnt going to stop you in time, the hand brake will help.. If i did that in a landy, i guess it would knacker the transmission.. I know that dont matter if you really have to stop, but i still...

I didn't know about the x brake. Would that work better than a rear wheels hand brake conversion, do you know..?

someone has had a go at that before n painted the red oxide over it.. It doesnt look too bad. Mine was loads worse. If you got the time do it yourself. I would get all the bits done for the mot to start with. That rust by the seat belt will fail you.. Its all pretty easy stuff to do, it just...

Have you tried bleeding plenty of times using different techniques..? I had clutch troubles after my slave cylinder gave up n poured fluid into the housing. After a lot of bleeding its now fine. I know others have had bleeding problems on disco 1's Plenty of info on here about it..

I snapped a drill bit once n put the broken spinning drill bit right into me finger.. Bloody hurts doesnt it..! I like the colour coded brake pads. That made i laugh Noisy :0)

Cheers for the info but i have just got it sorted with disco pads.. I will try to remember to keep an eye on them.
