    Selling my winch

And have you removed the lump bolted in to the transfer case? If yes I assume you have the standard parts to replace them?

    Selling my winch

If it is driven by pto then it probably isn’t much use without the pto and all the mounts and shafts? Has it got everything with it?

    110 V8 conversion to 300TDI

Hi, Yes I have a V8 Land Rover 127. But I have always had a magnet drawing me to V8s. Still own the Land Rover a Daimler and a Dodge, all V8s Have owned an Aston, 50s Ford, Jensen and another Dodge, all V8s Plus drove a lot of Company cars, mainly focused on V8s. But, I do (or did), get pretty...

Seat belt options for defender hard top

As a wild guess, the insurance company would say this is a modification. If you don’t tell them you have switched then invalid insurance. If you do tell them I doubt they would insure you?

Hi, and welcome. Might be worth giving us an idea what vehicle you are talking about? Then maybe post the question in a the appropriate section?

    110 V8 conversion to 300TDI

It depends what you plan on doing with the vehicle? If you want an investment, then a genuine vehicle will be worth more. If your going to do some miles in it, then 300 tdi If it is low miles and just for fun, then a v8 sounds good. So is it worth about twice the price in fuel for that? And of...

New wheels and tyres fit to where?

I would say put the new tyres on the trailer. You say the current part worn are 3/4 worn in expiry date. You wont wear them out on the trailer, so they will be cracking before they wear out. So you wont get full mileage out of them. New on trailer, wear out the old ones on the car. Then when you...

    R380 / LT230 gearing advice

If you are getting a t-box rebuild you could go for a intermediate ratio 1.3:1? Or you could consider an overdrive fitment?

    127 FFR more like FFFA

The Bulkhead will probably only get wet at the ends when parked on the flat ground in the rain. But once you drive in the rain the whole bulkhead will be getting a constant mist/shower of water onto it.

    127 FFR more like FFFA

I think it will be fine without the gasket if you don’t go out in the rain, or don’t mind a bit of extra noise. A gasket should stop water running down the bulkhead onto your feet. It should also reduce noise transfer from engine bay to cab.

    127 FFR more like FFFA

On mine the brake ones all look the same length. On the clutch, it has the front right hand and rear left hand (as in your picture) longer. Nothing extra is on the longer ones. It does have, what was probably, a thick sponge gasket. The long ones might be so they can get the first bit of...

    127 FFR more like FFFA

From memory the brake and clutch are completely separate mountings. I will have a look for you tomorrow though. I am assuming that you feel the bolts could be all the same length?

    127 FFR more like FFFA

Looks like a fuel switch. Most likely because you run two fuel tanks. I would say the loop of the pipe was to stop the fuel ****ing out when it was disconnected.

    Who knows about ivas?

Oh, and the body isn’t one of the main factors as far as dvla are concerned.. If you put a defender body on a range rover chassis, but keep all the other range rover components you can keep the range rover v5. But definitely can not use the land rover v5.

    Who knows about ivas?

If the v5 doesn’t have a model listed, it doesn’t mean it isn’t a legitimate vehicle. When the Q plates came in, I would guess it was in the 80s that I registered a Q vehicle, you told them what it was and they sometimes came and had a look, but probably just believed you. The insurance web...

    Who knows about ivas?

Registering is a bit random, it is a manual process for imports I would think. My guess, but I have only registered 4 or 5 vehicles, if the right word isn’t in the right box then it probably isn’t in some drop down menu. If the person in dvla doesn’t have to fill the box in, then they leave it...

    Who knows about ivas?

Well no. But it depends what you are asking. When registering older vehicles for the first time in the uk. If it is actually what is declared then it appears to all work fine. But, with an import it will be a genuine vehicle with paperwork saying what it is - nova normally. If it is old you get...

    Who knows about ivas?

It doesn’t have to be a long time ago for minimal info. I have a Land Rover registered in 2019. Date of manufacture 1993. Model - unknown Engine number - unknown Engine size and fuel correct. Almost everything else n/a It doesn’t cause me any issues! iva is only applicable after the year 2000...

Series 3 Essential tool kit for home mechanic?

I would suggest you go to Canada tire and tell them your budget. Look out for the old guy with grubby fingers! I don’t know what vehicle you have, so don’t know if you will need both metric and imperial. They do some decent stuff at sometimes reasonable prices.
