Welcome, Cracked block drops the price but you can swap it for a 300tdi anyway as the 2.5 N/A is a bit pedestrian. No V5 could be an issue so worth checking with DVLA. If its last MOT was a long time ago then again another price drop. I'd go for a cheeky £1k offer.

Hello all, I have rather expensively got two horses in a yard and filed of approx 5 acres with a slope and at the moment its a mud bath. The field will need harrowing, topping and rolling. Has anyone used their defender or series for doing these jobs and any advice? Ta.

Basically yes, but for the passenger side wing you'll need a hole for the S3 heater still. When i changed my S2a from a S3 front i changed the centre panel and the wing fronts only by drilling out the rivets and putting in S2a fronts.

Thanks for the recommendations. Parabolic will look a bit strange on Hicap and i've heard that they raise the rear body very high. John S....yeah, not gonna be much fun but luckily on my hicap I've got the rear body off so lots of easy access to swing hammers and breaker bars.

morning all, The auto cable in my defender has snapped near the shifter. the box and engine are from a D1 hence why disco forum. Does anyone know how to get the gearbox end off for the cable? ta

Erm....with a spanner. Seriously though....if its the one at the front of the block, remove cables then remove valve. bit of coolant will come out when you do it.

We've all seen it.....new acquisitions with bodged up fixes and 'field' repairs. Now of course we would never do any of these but whats the worse you've seen. Mine was on a S3 Hicap i bought last year.....brakes were dodgy as hell....took apart rear drums and there were no adjusters fitted for...

i'm no expert but fan cowling says intercooler, fip looks like 200tdi as does high up turbo.

Looks like a 200 tdi....depending on chassis 4-5k ish.....clean it up, empty it out, put some alloys on and wrap a rope around front bumper and get another 1k

Sorted. Managed to get 14mm connection from pump to box off and disconnected at reservoir end. ta.

Was hoping to do today and i live in cumbria so doubt anyone sells a 5/8 pipe spanner on a saturday. worse case i'll cut the pipes and replace but again would rather do today.
