    P38A Thermostat 2.5 DSE

I suppose I'm thinking back to my petrol Volvo and various other cars with less substantial blocks. I guess that they heated up more quickly.

    P38A Thermostat 2.5 DSE

Yes. That is what I undestood from your older posts. I'm not thinking of a total failure, just that over time the springs properties may have changed and that it is opening at a lower temp than it would have done when new, diverting all that nice warm water to the rad. I'm a bit surprised...

    P38A Thermostat 2.5 DSE

That's why @wammers post interested me. Effectively the heater matrix heats before the overall coolant temp comes into play. Until the stat opens, it is a very short circuit and the cabin should warm almost immediately. If the stat is opening early, that benefit is lost. So, even if the...

    P38A Thermostat 2.5 DSE

Read through a number of the old posts on this, particularly noting @wammers description of how the heater matrix is unregulated in order to give a fast cabin heat up. Even after a two mile drive, Nanocom tells me that the coolant temp is around 60C. Grateful for confirmation that, after 22...

    Newb Freelander owner seeks... advice

Not strictly speaking true. They make up their income by fining folk for the most minor transgressions. Having said that, the inner boroughs and city (for @JohnM70) are exceptionally clean for a high density metropolitan area.

    P38A DSE - 1995 - Low intermittent rumble

This is an annoying one. It doesn't sound like a heavy component and sounds like it is in the engine bay towards the right (looking at the car from the front). Mainly at low speed but stops when stationary, which makes having a look with the bonnet up tricky. Although it only happens when...

    P38A Nanocom vs Wabco C - 97 GEMS

If it's the switch, the fault doesn't show in the Waco section. Now you're going to ask where it does. I cant remember but will have a look when I can.

    2002 P38 No Electrics

I'm confident that Shere Khan is going to pay for it to be converted to electric. He's just waiting for the battery technology to make it a viable alternative with a decent range. If he doesn't, I will maintain my current opinion of him as being a poisonous midget.

    2002 P38 No Electrics

That sounds similar to the thing @Turboman suffered a while back. Grateful if you'd stick around for as long as I've got the P38. I think that it goes tax exempt in 2035 so it might start appreciating then. It would be nice to get my money back on it.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Well, of course you should be back permanently. You're the only one to counter @wammers when he's on a stridency march.
