    Greenlaning help and advice?

There in lies more subjective thought, one man's challenge is another's plod :) I'm old-fashioned, and I love maps, so thats what I do, sit there with maps and highlighter pen. Maps can actually give a fairly good idea what a route may be like on the ground with experience Then check the...

    Hydraulic winch pump

I'm sure its not recommended at all, but I did briefly one many years ago that was run off the power steering pump, the next time I saw it, it had two steering pumps, one for winch, one for steering. Might be worth looking at commercial breakers, transit tipper, that sort of thing although many...

    3.9 efi drinking water!!

I would normally say liner on a 3.9, but I have usually managed to cure them with Kseal. A leak between water & exaaust however never seems to be fixable with that stuff. Soon as water pushes sealant into the crack, combustion pressure forces it back out. I did run my Volvo V70 in such a state...

    Towing troubles

Going to sound stupid, but do you still have standard tyres under the 2" lift? If you have gone for say 235/85 tyres that will be like making every gear ratio around 11% higher unless there are compensations made in transfer box or axles. I think however others may be right, just sell it...

    Surrey 31/08

I have to go just south of Guildford on Sunday afternoon, and was figuring doing some of the lanes I used to do in the Dorking/Cranfield area during the morning. Anyone fancy joining in? From memory of half a dozen years ago most of the ones in mind were relatively tame and done in a stock...

What 4X4 for towing a horse box.....

Towing wise I have used an old 4.0 cherokee sport (the smaller jeep, but was still rated for 3500kg towing) on LPG. With the auto and cruise control it was a dream, and running on gas not excessively expensive, hills no problem, and even on road tyres I rarely had to put it into 4x4, never mind...
