    Classic. Slipped liners?

Quick question. After experiencing a slipped liner on my P38 4.6 and having to sell the old girl, I have seen a very nice classic for sale. It's a 1993 3.9 and I have also seen a 1998 3.5. Do both of these also suffer from the 'slippage' of the P38 or, are they a safer bet? I really miss my...

    Range Rover L322

could anyone have a look at the link below and give me some advice? This popped up and I am seeing it today. I have read extensively on buying a L322 but as a p38 owner I know that a Range Rover will never be perfect, however what big issues should I look at on this one? And, does it look like a...

    Starting has stopped

RAC man here. It fires with some spray into the air filter then nothing. Does that mean its not the sync?

    Starting has stopped

I had a new door handle fitted last week by RR specialists. It worked fine after that. Does the re sync involve the key and door locks? Can I do that?

    Quick question

My 2.5 DSE 2002 is going excellently. However, yesterday in a car park with the car on a gentle slope, I noticed that when reverse was engaged the car rolled forwards down the slope. A tiny bit of throttle was applied and the car reversed without any problems. There are no nasty noises or any...

    Its healed itself again! spooky.

So the self healing P38 strikes again. Can anyone explain this? 2.5 DHSE 2002 AUTO 1. Disconnected battery to fix stereo. 2. Reconnected battery all fine but remote on key fob became disassociated with the car and didn't work. 3. Quick trip to Mark Smith Land Rover for a re sync tutorial. 4...

    P38 diesel Air Con problem

Some success has been made! while looking stupidly at the relays and wondering how to tackle them with out making things worse, I spotted a little blue connector that was not connected. So I connected it. Voila, ice cold air but with the addition of a screech from the compressor. the screech...

    P38 diesel Air Con problem

Thanks. I have taken them off and cleaned up but nothing. I had assumed that I could bridge the connection and bypass the switch. Will try that when home on Tuesday, with a more experienced helper! I assume that they should be bridged one at a time? Or both together? Wammers anything to add...

    P38 diesel Air Con problem

Thanks everybody. I have had a look for the pressure switch but think that I need a few more clues to find it! I have also had a look on RAVE, my first look and cant find section 82. Feel rather like the stupid kid at school who is constantly harassing the teacher! Is this right?

    P38 diesel Air Con problem

Luckily I went to Quick F so there was no charge. The HEVAC has the 'book' symbol. Does this mean that the system will not operate even if the compressor is OK?

    P38 diesel Air Con problem

Happy Easter. I have just returned from having my air con re-gassed. As per the details below, the gas remained in the system and there are no leaks. However, the aircon still fails to operate. I know that when the light is on, it is off and when the light is off, it is on. Mad. When I press the...

Hot fix and a chip. will they mix?

That's amazingly kind thank you very much. I am working full on until next Friday, however, if you have some time after Easter and you would be willing to have a look and take on a pupil for a short time, that would be great. I think that I can message a mobile number in the 'chat' session will...

Hot fix and a chip. will they mix?

It's not. There is air in the pipe. When the key is turned, the air bubble disappears towards the block. 'O' rings in the FIP or as you say porous pipe? Will add that to the list! Many thanks
