Try shortening the tube you poke in the chassis , I had the same issue so Halved the tube and just drilled a couple extra holes in the chassis. I was using a no name gun and a smaller sealey compressor. I also managed to blow up a schutz canister, Jesus that was a mess…..

Well it passed the MOT yesterday. No advisories. To be fair I have only done 2000miles in it in the past year, what with surgery that took almost 5 months to recover from, a new baby, a house move, and insane work schedules - I just haven’t been able to drive it lol still pleased it passed :)

I did mine with a mate (my first time) a year ago - was actually much easier than I though using the timing kit, just double check everything and do a couple of manual test rotations to make sure it all works before you put it back together. most of the faff was the dismantling to get to it...

Could the the rubber joint between the top and bottom half of the actual gear stick has deteriorated. Mine was doing similar but not all the time, I just put a couple of blobs of weld to stop it rattling

you won’t need to Hoover at the back, most compressors will easily blast cavity wax from the front to waay out the back. I would suggest a plastic tarp instead so you don’t end up with cavity wax all over your driveway!

You don’t use both. I use the copper washer and re-anneal it each time but you can use whatever you fancy - copper or fibre - they both do the same job
