assuming its has dim/dip the first thing to check is that all the tab connectors on the fuse box and lighting relay are in place and have not been pushed backwards out of their holders
the feature you describe seem senseless why would you dim the radio illumination ,surely you would brighten the illumination at night ,is this feature not programable on the radio
when you open the doors other than the drivers door the circuit is earthed so providing the two rear and tail door door cables are insulated the alarm will think the doors are closed PLG via header C0285 to C0660-4 on the 2000 and 2003 body control unit
have you checked the temperature with a probe or laser to confirm it is overheating and where the hot spot s are or is it not the gauge telling lies ,for it to over heat it would force the coolant to be pressurised and you say it's not

yes I've yet to find a better tool than MS paint shame the forum file size is so limiting as some of my files are too large to post and I have to either reduce the info and quality or forgo posting them
if you look at the pdf version all the colour seem to blur into each other hence my preference to PNG Files but anything larger 1.2mb to large to post ,the enlarged PNG runs at 1.7MB

its a PNG image it's the only images I find that doesn't leech colours over time ,the draw back is they are usually too large to post some times and compression software size reductions is limited
