    ECU Problems :(

That's very interesting I am watching with bated breath, and I hope it's a big success for you, I read that the main issues with these ECUs are usually down to those capacitors, and I suspect the ECU repair company were going to change mine and rely on that being the problem, I understand that...

Take a look here its a bit long but maybe something that might help...

Battery Charging with battery connected -

I've charged my FL2 with the battery connected, but in the ECU I found a voltage fault when I connected the reader, cant be sure but I think it's due to the charger which ramps up the voltage slightly to give a forward current. The defender often gets charged with the battery on but doe6seem to...

    Freelander 2 (LR2) FL2 Rear Diff Seizure.

The haldex is just the same as the VCU The VCU drives continuously but can slip the haldex freewheels until the ECU pulls in the clutch. One of the reasons put forward for the diff failurs is the way the ECU applies the torque, apparently later software modifies this.

    Freelander 2 (LR2) FL2 Rear Diff Seizure.

Actually that's not correct. The haldex is filled with thin oil and has a small electric pump in there, when running normally the rear axle freewheels and drive is done by the front wheels only, when required the pump pressurises the center of the haldex which is like a hydraulic cylinder and...

Freelander 1 There's a rat in the kitchen

The passenger glove box comes out and also removing the center speaker on the dashboard gives some insight, I did it when I installed a new android system in mine, sorry I cant exactly remember the details but once you get the centre speaker out then it's not too difficult to get the radio...

Thanks This will be quite interesting, I found this site yeasterday : https://www.maverickdiagnostics.com/latest-jaguar-land-rover-dealer-diagnostic-software-updates/ But have not tried it yet, At £32 for the cable its not a big layout so thinking of dipping my toe in.

Thanks for the advice, I didn't know about the SDD system being available, and I have been looking it up on the internet, obviously as the OEM system its pretty much the best, but obviously needs a good working knowledge of it to be sure you dont get yourself into deep water, and I was concerned...

That’s interesting and much cheaper, I have to admit I have not seen the SDD, I was just thinking in terms of stuff I have used before, Obviously you have a bit of a complicated situation going on but stepping back do you think the setup would be good for an average user just looking at...

How is the Foxwell going ? I have a FL2 and I was thinking of getting the NT 530 but reading posts on different sites is a bit confusing, at present it can be had for £120 and it seems a good time to jump in.

Had mine done last year, the pre load is very high, it was almost impossible to turn the input when I brought it home, rang the garage who said dont worry its OK.
