    Modified p38's

Thanks for that info. Do you have any photos of the hole in the fender? My snorkel is at a parcel pick up place just over the border so I have not picked it up as I don't want to bother with getting tested before coming back. When I ordered it they had cancelled the requirement for testing at...

    Modified p38's

I never considered a snorkel necessary until a club member in a Toyota 4Runner stalled hie engine by driving too fast through a deep puddle. His air intake was in exactly the same place as the P38. Fortunately his air filter blocked all the water and no engine damage. Took out filter, cleaned...

    Series 2 Seat Belts

Statistics show that the majority of accidents are within are a few km of home. Taking short trips is not a good reason to ignore Safety. Same as ignoring Safety precautions on the job as "I've done it this way before without a problem". Please pardon the lecture from a retired Safety professional.

    Modified p38's

About the only thing I have done to mine is recalibrate the offroad height to give an additional 2 inches. The same as what you'd get if it went into beached mode. Also fitted BFG KO2 tires. I have done very well offroad in the mountains of BC following Defenders everywhere. Considering I only...

    Merry Christmas from British Columbia

Merry Christmas to all LandyZone Land Rover enthusiasts from a snowy Chilliwack, BC. It is not often that we have snow on Christmas but this year is an exception and the coming week is supposed to be an unusually cold -10C at night. Hope everyone is making the best of another compromised...

P38A Braking System Problem on P38a - Pedal Travel Question and What to do Next?

Not sure if it is for the correct year but there is a pretty good YouTube video on bleeding the P38 system posted by the Norwegian fellow.

    P38A total lockout

OK, I stand corrected. Did not know that only applied to connecting with the EAS ECU. Thank you for enlightening me.

    P38A total lockout

"also cant use the nanocom as all i get is unable to communicate" Seems to me that is a big part of his problem and I am sure you cannot connect diagnostics if you have the wrong or missingng relay. Have experienced it myself.

    P38A total lockout

Perhaps your Nano does not communicate because the self leveling relay under the passengers(?) seat is missing or replaced with the wrong relay.

BFG KO2 at or MAXXIS MT-764 mt

Apparently you folks cannot use KM3 tires on greenlanes. Chews up the track too much I guess.. "With his NHS marking, this tyre cannot be used on roads and trails open to public"

BFG KO2 at or MAXXIS MT-764 mt

I have the KO2 on my P38 and I have followed the Defenders with KO3 mud tires everywhere. I think they are a good compromise between offroad and street tires. I don't like the idea of using mud tires as street tires because I don't think they have as good traction or braking on wet pavement. I...

    Strange Starting

I seem to recall having a similar problem in my 98. It got to the point were I would get in, turn the key to position 2 and buckle up the seat belt and do any other jobs before starting. I eventually replaced the fuel pump in the tank and solved the problem (actually had to as it died...

Some easy backcountry driving in British Columbia

We actually don't do much offroad driving from November to April as there is too much snow in the mountains. At higher elevations you have to wait till June or July. I have driven on an ice road once for a work assignment in NE BC. Thirty-five below zero so everything was well frozen including me

Some easy backcountry driving in British Columbia

I think one person got icecream but that was the last of it. I'm not exactly a youngster at 70 and our most active lady member who drives her Defender 90 is 71. Neither of us are slowing down yet

Yes, great bunch of people. I should post some photos from our 1 week trip on Northern Vancouver Island.

How to add an 2 inch lift to a p38?

I can well imagine if the standar plan is just to raise your vehicle. The main problem we have in BC is roads and bridges washed out since many are no longer maintained. Major problem on steep section of which we have many in mountainous BC. Had to turn back a few times

How to add an 2 inch lift to a p38?

Here in BC we are mostly driving on old logging or mining roads, gravel to loose rock. Occasionally have to cross areas of dirt with ruts but usually can straddle them. It sounds like some of your ares need some road work. You can't just keep lifting the vehicle indefinitely as the ruts get...
