    P38A Thor engine fuel filter?

The only way your fuel pump/filter combination is going to fail is by plugging up. A second filter will not help that. Since the P38 fuel tank is plastic you are not going to have rust plugging up the the filter which was a common problem in "the good old days" when I was young. If you are still...

    P38 spring options

Terrafirma has a complete kit that they say has 4 inches of lift. I would contact them to ask if other changes need to be made to the vehicle after fitting. TERRAFIRMA RANGE ROVER P38 4IN KIT $879 US As seen on the Lucky8 website

    D4 battery charging query

Is the message referring to the main starting battery? If original it may have failed. Can you measure the voltage at the starting battery? Should be at least 12.4 volts. Battery voltage should not be low so something is not right. Maybe alternator is not charging. I think you can use an...

    P38A Drivers lock

Thanks for the suggestions regarding my sticky drivers side window. I did lube all the moving parts and sprayed silicone on the vertical rails. I don't recall if I checked for loose parts but nothing appeared out of position. When winter is over I will take off the door card and have another look.

    Probably a 6 volt gauge.

    P38A Drivers lock

One of the microswitches in the door latch is not working correctly or there is a poor electrical connection in one of the plugs behind the door card. Take the door card off and clean plugs with electrical contact cleaner. Plug and unplug each several times. If that does not help you may need a...

P38A Engine Disabled when Fob refused to work

It's my understanding that the immobiliser cannot be fully turned off. So if you lock the car with the fob and then unlock it with the key because your fob has stopped working you will have an immobilised car. If the fob doesn't work and you don't know your EKA you are screwed.

    P38A Soggy, Mouldy, Leaky P38

Aside from the pollen filters that whole grill area at the bottom of the windshield can leak water. There is a YouTube video where a guy takes it all apart and seals everything. I did that and still have water leaking in on the passengers side.

    L322 Beware 2nd hand parts-Check & Double Check!

Yes, and if you ask for a "drive shaft" and get that long thing which connects your rear axle to your tramission instead of the "halfshaft" that you really needed you will again be disappointed

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

No, he did it himself. He goes to the gym every second day to work out and was an amateur body builder at one time. At 67 he is quite strong and considers this sort of thing to be a worthy challenge. Note that we are both wee folk at 5.5 feet/1.7 m and less than 135 pounds/61kg.

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

Update on the 109. I did pick up the replacement diff although delayed a few days by unusually heavy snowfall. Brother installed by himself and all is well except for bent rear cross member.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Well the only significant problems my 2008 L322 SC has experienced have been mechanical in nature and believe me we get a lot of rain where I live in the winter. First owner had to replace the transmission with a rebuild around 180k km. I have had to replace the AC compressor and a coolant hose...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

On the fourth try I found a garage that would let me buy a replacement air spring and have it shipped to their shop. The owner was a bit leery about installing it but he did a bit of online checking and decided it was not that much different than some American cars so he thinks he can acomodate...

What did you do with your Range Rover today

On the bump stops again. On my way from BC to sunny Baja Mexico and roughly 100 miles north of San Francisco my left rear air spring developed a serious leak. Currently camped at the Ckear Lake State Park near the small town of Lockport. Hoping to get a replacement air spring installed some...

P38A Tale of two faults fixed

I have been able to copy and paste on my desktop PC but not from my Samsung S22+ although I only tried that once when posting recently became a problem. Consequently if I take a photo with the phone I have to email it to myself to get it on the PC for posting. A bit of a nuisance for sure.

    terrain response

Well I have read that in Snow mode it starts out in 2nd gear to lessen wheel spin. It also reduces throttle response. I have only ever used show mode. In January I was driving around in the snow with the 4x4 info screen displayed to see what the two diffs were doing. My SC has the locking rear...

If a bag came apart I don't see how you could put it back together without a leak.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

I recently purchased a 99 Autobiography in order to get the factory winch tray and Warn winch to swap onto my offroader. Car had a misfire on cylinder 7 which we fixed by installing a new fuel injector and known good coils. Then we discovered a vibration in the driveline. There seemed to be some...

Series 2 Broke the rear diff in 5 door 109

Yep, nothing salvageable there. Next week I will be picking one up from a club member for $250CAD. Took out the diff from my 2nd P38 yesterday and 6 bolt heads were broken off the bolts that hold the ring gear in place. Must have put the gear out of balance and caused the vibration. I will post...
