    Broken down . Advice please

Have you checked the ECU? I had a similar issue with my 90 (albeit it was trying to turn over) after 2 hours of trouble shooting (checking battery, starter, fuel pump, fuses, etc.) turned out to be the ECU had come loose!

Welcome Tirran... I'm still pretty new here myself and as you say lots of good advice and loads of very helpful people. Don't forget to post some pic's ;)

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

Thanks @Discodevon, that's a good point... it has been remapped by the previous owner (although might look at getting that looked at as not sure its a good one) EGR has been blanked and I'm planning on changes hoses, etc.

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

That's where my thinking is heading... I think for peace of mind it might be worth fitting a new clutch & DMF, inspect the rest and hopefully not find anything else!! Can anybody suggest somebody decent around Surrey/ Kent areas who could do this and not rip me off in the process?

    Yes it does seem to.

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

OK... have now got a lovely tapping sound coming from what seems to be the gearbox to add to my abnormally loud fuel pump (working on sorting that out)!! A little distressing as its disturbing my enjoyment of hearing the thud of insects hitting the windscreen on these beautiful summer days or...

    Suspension Removal/ Replacement

I don’t think it’s necessary from what I’ve read and some of the videos... seen it done with removing them and not. The turrets look fine on mine and plan to do it without removing them... but have a spare set just in case I discover differently when I get in there.

Island 4x4 - are they still trading?

I've just called them... picked up within 4 rings (note they don't answer the phones 12:30 - 13:00)... try giving them another call.

    Noisy Fuel Pump TD5

Does a nice cloud of black smoke at start up count? Lol!!

    Noisy Fuel Pump TD5

The more things I find that have been bodged on the poor thing, I think you’re most likely right!! I’m just going to replace the pump, filter, hoses and injector seals and see where that leads. Might be over the top and doing one might solve the problem but rather have the comfort that all...

    Suspension Removal/ Replacement

Thank you everyone for your advice... I’m feeling a lot more comfortable about undertaking the work myself and saving £s in the process. Not sure about how the lift was achieved and given I’ve already spent a lot time correcting some of the other bodge jobs done on it by the previous owner...

    Suspension Removal/ Replacement

Are you saying I could just get away with replacing the springs and wouldn’t necessarily need to replace the shocks, etc?

    Suspension Removal/ Replacement

Thanks Scooby22. That's where my thinking was heading, but just wanted to check as not LR parts are always necessary the best... as you say it's more of a compromise!!
