For Sale Freestyle Alloys & Kuhmo 265/75R16 MTs

Hi I have a set (x5) of freestyle Alloys (could do with a new coat of paint) fitted with Kumho Road Venture MTs 265/75R16 with approx. 8-10mm tread left on them. Ideally would like to swap for a set of wheels with ATs on them but open to offer them for a straight sale for a sensible price.

    It Failed

Having looked/ searched about... the heating (even as de-mister) is not part of the MOT and that's been stated by MOT testers, so that one still seems a little strange to me. I get the second point as if its fitted and at some point might be used it becomes part of the lights.

    It Failed

Just checked and there is no mention of the heater under electrical equipment to be checked during an MOT... if it's down to the de-misting then it should fail on the basis it's a Defender!!

    It Failed

That's insane... god there's no hope for mine then!! Guess I best enjoy the next few months of the current MOT before converting it to a SKIP!

    Dashboard bulb upgrade

Hi Higgy It will be a dash out job and looks like it might be a bit of pain for what will be a two minute job in switching the bulbs themselves!! check this link out () If a job looks like it can be a pain in the butt I just ensure I take a little extra time and make sure I note the order...

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

General pretty happy to put up with if you guys think it isn’t anything to be overly worried about. This is my 1st Defender (albeit have owned two Disco’s before and being ex forces have plenty of experience trying to break Defenders with varying degrees of success). I think having found a few...

thanks @Discodevon... makes sense and certainly value your advice (and everyone else that has responded) as you guys understand these things better than me... plus it’s always a bonus not having spending money unless absolutely necessary. Can’t thank you all enough for your help to date and...

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

Thanks @Brown... a few hours of work have gone into the interior. I’d love to take credit for it but it’s my 12 year old daughter that’s has the creative design license... I just have to pay for it and do the work :p basically she wants it to look like statins off-road wagon on the outside and...

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

Definitely worth checking given the state of the rear section of the exhaust. However my daughter (willing passenger) seems to think it was coming more from the handbrake area

Thanks @tottot will do... yeah I thought there was a lot of play in the gear stick as well but planned to sort that out when I fit a synchro shift as need a bit more room now I’ve fitted a double din.

Hadn’t thought about checking the prop shafts... getting under there later today and have a good look!

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

No not really... and that would make sense as it seems to sound more frequent as the speed increase! haven’t had a passenger try and listen, but that’s a good idea. Could it just be in need of a fluid top up... would that help? I don’t know if the previous owner would have had it done given the...

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

Ollie (the guy @boguing recommended) had a quick listen yesterday when I was picking up the exhaust part and wasn’t a 100% what it was but seems to think something to do with gearbox area!! Was thinking of taking it to somewhere like a Mr Clutch for them to give me a free (no obligation)...

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

Well that was fun... previous owner had fitted a new middle silencer but left the old rear box on which was obviously knackered, but also reattached it with 3 different sized bolts o_O that were rusted to hell. Had to cut them off and now fitted with 3 nice new bolts that are the same size...

Thanks again @boguing for the recommended... just had to pay Ollie (top guy) a visit as something else popped up this morning with my 90  Luckily he had a replacement, so I guess those other things I had planned to do to it this weekend has just shifted down the list!!! Looking to get the...
