    The new Land Rover

I personally don't have an issue with the new Land Rover and having a TD5 90 and Velar in the household both are great in their own ways. I think the issue is that Land Rover are clearly marketing the new model on the success of the old Defender and therefore, people are going to naturally...

    Wheels and tyres

I'm making the assumption that the pic of the Defender is yours! Unless twisted used an adapter for those wheels then the stud pattern should be the same (5x165). Tyre wise best to measure your current set-up and compare to the height and width of these (H35" W12.5"). You might also need to take...

    So now I've bought a Series 2a

Good choice ;) and having gone down a similar route with my 12 years old daughter with a TD5 90 you'll have a great time with your grandson. If you get stuck on anything there's a great guy near me that does restorations, so feel free to PM me if you do get stuck and I'll pass on his details...

Does anyone else think the 2020 Defender is just hideous?

To be honest... its not the looks/ style (whatever that turns out to be) of the new Defender the bothers me. Its how capable it is in its different roles and if it holds on to what has made all the Series, 90s/110s and Defenders so iconic!! Simple to maintain (within reason), the ability to make...

Will 265/75/16 tyres fit 8" Rims?

Yes... it’s the height that’s is different. Basically 85% or 70% of the width.

Will 265/75/16 tyres fit 8" Rims?

I'm running 265/75R16s on my freestyles which are 7j x16 (width 7") without any issues and seen a loads of boost with the same set-up. So running them on 8"s should be a problem.

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

It could be but the brakes pads are fine... replaced not to long ago. I've (I say "I've" but actually have somebody local who does LR restorations doing the work and me helping) got to bleed the system anyway and for the piece of mind, a few £'s and getting dirty its one thing I can tick of the...

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

OK... so the fluid level is very low, so going with that for now and replace the master and slave cylinders!! :(

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

I have no idea... I haven't owned it long enough to have get to that level of mechanically knowledge yet ;) (but I'm learning fast!) How would I find that out?

That's new!! but doesn't sound good!

Well I guess that's confirmed it... went to leave for a trip to Bristol this morning and the clutch has GONE!! No gears with engine running, but can select when off!! Still could have been worse... could have gone on the journey there!

Wanted 16" Rims for Defender 90

Yes they would be spot on if the width is right :)

What have you done on your 90/110/130 today?

After a few months of discussing different ideas on what we wanted to do with our newly acquired 90... my daughter and I have decided on making it a soft-top!! Hoping to get all the work done (including the mechanical bits) in time for the arrival of global warming!!! ;)

    Engine System Failure

Hi... I had a similar issues with my 2008 D3 (albeit not when towing). Would normally happen when speed increased above 50mph and basically I had to stop, turn off the engine and then restart to clear the issue. It ended up being the EGR valves and once they were sorted the problem stopped...

Wanted 16" Rims for Defender 90

Looking for a set (ideally x5 but would consider x4) 16" steel rims for my defender... must be able to take 265/75R16 tyres (I think that means they need to be a minimum 6.5" width). Not worried if they come with tyres or not as will be replacing with my own set. Thanks

What have you done to your Landie today.

Removed the bench seats from the back of the 90 and replaced with two inward facing (one each side) exmoor half’n’half and changed the seatbelts while I was at it!! More comfortable seating for the those in the back (on the odd occasion I have them) and have kept load space ;)

Does anyone run Michelin Latitude Cross tyres 235/85/16?

Not a bad tyre if your are looking at more motorway mileage than anything else... will definitely be quieter and give you better ride due to the less aggressive tread and also the thinner profile (albeit the height of the tyre isn't that much different). If you do change... I'm on the look out...

Has anyone dealt with Image 4x4 before?

I came across one of Image 4x4's builds on my search for my Defender at a well know LR establishment just outside Birmingham. It caught my eye as it had a nice Nara Bronze finish!! Yes I know... very superficial!! However when enquiring about it, the chap I spoke too used the following words...
