    Diesel economy

Larger diesels tend to give around what they're supposed to... Some even do better! My P38 beats its quoted combined figures by a significant margin... Both on the dash and tank-to-tank.

    Diesel economy

Same issue with Nagger's Corsa 1.3CDTi... supposed to average 80-odd mpg on the combined cycle, but won't get better than 55mpg. These small diesel engines simply can't match, in real world driving conditions, the figures derived from testing done in ideal conditions...

wheels and tyres do they fit a disco

Wheel nuts on my P38 and Disco 1 are identical. Centre bore sizes are 70.3 (P38 / D2) and 72.5 (L322) fI memory serves... (standing by to be corrected if wrong)

wheels and tyres do they fit a disco

P38 and Disco 2 are the same fitment. L322 are the same PCD but larger centre bore, hence the need for spigot rings when fitting L322 wheels to a P38 or D2.

2.5 dse starting probs help please

You need to get it on a RR specific diagnostics, I think... Standing by to be corrected, but I don't think a generic diagnostics would even talk to the vehicle, let alone read any faults...

2.5 dse starting probs help please

You'll only REALLY know the state of your fusebox after dismantling it and seperating the 2 layers of circuit board... Most of the scorching damage occurs between the layers. Unfortunately, your 2nd hand fleabay one may be no better...

It's time to say goodbye to my P38 :-(

Unfortunately I can't... I KNOW I'll be hankering after another as soon as I can afford it, though... :) And Saint... I know exacty what you mean, having owned an E38 740iL myself :D

It's time to say goodbye to my P38 :-(

A perfect example right there... the only way you get 95bhp out of a 1.3 is to squeeze 2 litres worth of air into it.. only prob is, when you're off boost it has no power at all, requiring the foot to be put down quite a long way before it reacts. With a 2 litre engine, that torque would always...

It's time to say goodbye to my P38 :-(

Urrrgh... that dash is gopping :5bpuke: Besides, I'm very skeptical of the mileage claims of these small diesels... they may well be capable of making their quoted mpg figures... on the flat, in perfect unaccelerated, constant-speed driving... however, in the real world they can't get anywhere...

It's time to say goodbye to my P38 :-(

I's 'ad one of them... awesome it was. Not very well built, but went like buggery and still got 40mpg... not very comfy on long trips, mind, they're a bit basic inside... Told yer, I likes quirky, I do...

It's time to say goodbye to my P38 :-(
