Real moral of the story... Don't ever forget the golden rule of dealing with fuel starvation... NEVER assume there is fuel in the tank, even if the gauge says so... :D

Pump & level sender are one unit, are they not? Dont think you can replace level sender alone... The fact that it took a total of 92 litres to brim it tell me the tank was empty and the gauge (that was reading slightly over 1/8) was lying!!!

Stand fast... Pump appears to be working fine... Except the one thing a pump really needs is... Fuel in the tank to pump out!! Looks like my level sender is lying... Put 10L in the tank, after a bit of a crank fired up and ran fine. Drove to petrol station... And it took 82L before the pump...

UPDATE: Put 10L of diesel in the tank and it fired up and ran... About to drive it home now, but it seems ok... Also... Not so sure it's the pump anymore... I filled the tank and it took 81 litres... Unless I have a magic expanded tank, or a secret compartment for extra fuel somewhere, it...

First thing I went for... swapped out the relay, and fuses all look good... I'm not that lucky! Some fuel is getting through... it's trying to start when I crank it, just seems like not enough. Gonna put the driver's seat back in the Disco, then go grab a jerry can full of derv and see if...

Update - following some advice on here (awesome, as always :)) I'm going to try putting more fuel in the tank and see if there's enough in the lift pump to get it running and drive it home for repair... In contact with mhm via text atm...

Fill valves should auto-shutoff at 80% - if it's doing any less, you may have the tank mounted at the wrong angle. Typically, cylinder tanks need to be mounted with the valves exactly 30 deg off the vertical.
