    Been a while...

Hi, welcome back. Think it's just luck to find a rust free one, wasn't any about when I was looking to get mine (unless I travelled a long way to get one). Have a look on some Facebook groups, I've seen some up for sale now and then which has had rear chassis replacements. If you do get one...

    Steve's disco 2 rebuild

Thanks, certainly is. I was expecting more advisories. Just a couple of bolts needed tightening up which I missed. Mot tester was impressed with the clean underside, he said he was expecting a rotbox like they usually are

    Steve's disco 2 rebuild

At long last, it's back on the road. Passed the mot with one advisory which is a slight oil leak. Glad to be back behind a wheel of a landy.

    Steve's disco 2 rebuild

Quick update, been doing all the finishing off jobs over the last couple of weekends. Fitted the new rf receiver so that's sorted the locking problem out, did the tracking using a bit of string (will get it properly done when it's on the road). Yesterday I replaced the sump gasket (and did the...

    Defender 110 chassis

https://www.maer.com.pl/defender-110-300tdi-chassis---basic,1071,3906.html Found this, they make it out of 3mm so it's thicker than standard, but not sure if the factory HD chassis had extra reinforcement in places (such as spring mounts for example). Being land rover I doubt they did much any...

    Defender 110 chassis

I wouldn't know what the difference is between HD and standard chassis, is it just thicker material used? If so I think maer chassis do thicker than standard chassis for not much more than you've been quoted

    Defender 110 chassis

Hi welcome to the forum, Speak to richards chassis, they might be able to make a chassis to your spec. How bad is your chassis?

    Just starting a rebuild

+1, this is what I did with my 90, although on my brothers 110 we put the loom in conduit and clipped it to the top of the chassis rail next to the fuel lines

    Chassis replacement

Hi welcome to the forum, do you want recommendation on chassis supplier or someone to fit it for you? I've used marsland chassis twice in the past without any problems, fitted perfect. Almost finished a D2 rebuild with a richards chassis which is fine. Heard good reviews for maer chassis and...

    Galvanized spray paint

Don't think there is any that will give it the same look, all the ones I've used at work end up looking like normal silver spray paint.

    ACE System removal effect

I could be vehicles originally fitted with coils had the bigger diameter bars and the ones fitted with airbags had smaller bars maybe?

    ACE System removal effect

You should be fine if they are coming with them, I bought some arb's off marketplace then bought HD links and new bushes assuming they are all the same, when they arrived the fronts fitted but the back ones didn't, think I used my old ones off the ace bars.

    ACE System removal effect

Did you get new bushes with your arb's? If not there are 2 different sizes for the back arb. I made the mistake of getting the wrong ones when I put non ace arb's on mine. Might be wrong but I think the 7 seaters had the bigger arb

    Rear door dovetail bracket

Seem to remember on mine there were a load of shims between tub frame and the bracket. No longer have my 90 so can't check for you

Spare wheel is fouling the bumper

On the disco 2 you can flip the carrier up the other way to give it a bit of a lift. Middle bolt holes won't line up though

    300 tdi in td5 chassis

I did something similar in the past on my old 90. Put a 300tdi into a galv V8 chassis. Not sure what the mounts are like on the defender td5, but I bolted a 10/12mm plate to the chassis mount then screwed the rubber mount to it which lined up to the engine mount bracket. Was a bit tight getting...
