    Non starter TD5

If it is quite a loud metalic click then the betting is, as other have said, the starter solenoid is on its way out. Mine did exactly the same on a sporodic basis, normally worse in the wet? for over a year till it finally gave up. You can get a repair kit (I Did) but as i have large hands...

Isn't the Dashboard Gear selection indicator next to the odometer driven by the XYZ switch? - What does this display - if it is working normally I think it would suggest the XYZ switch is working if not this may be the first place to look

    Bizarre noise!

Mine does exactly this however I do not always get the TC light come on, I think it depends on how quick the TC system is on for a very quick spin and no light but the noise - slighlty longer and the TC light comes on

    TD5 air suspension & towing.

If you have the standard Disco Towbar then the third set of holes down should set the van right. I have this on Mine with Air Suspension and my van sits dead level When you first hitch the car will drop however once you start the Engine and with all doors closed it will come back up to the...

    Ipod cassette tape in td5

Would say that either the tape deck or the cassette is faulty, it should just turn the spindle and never see any tension, this is used to swap sides / eject the tape. I think the head unit is detecting tension and therefore causing your problem

    Shock Absorbers

The Handbrake feeling comes as you have a single Handbrake on the Propshaft rather than one on each rear wheel. This means that the slack in the drive shafts / differential has to be taken up before the handbrake works. The car can move forward one of two inches. As Paul said seems you need to...

    Intermittent Airspring Collapse

Very Similar problam as I had. After much searching and water spraying turned out to be a hairline crack in the top moulding where the Air Pipe Union fits, however only showed up when the airbag was removed and pumped up with air in a bucket of water.

Are Disco drivers more intelligent, or just more considerate?

It was foggy here yesterday - so everyone had their front fog lights on but being muppets they also had their dipped lights on which complely defeats the objective of using front fog lights ie reduced glare to the driver - suppose they thought they looked good - probabley had their Oakley shades...

Are Disco drivers more intelligent, or just more considerate?

Not wishing to start an argument but my two penny’s worth (and yes i agree all blinged up car owners should be crushed in their cars after they have been stopped for no insurance as they can’t afford it after al the mods to their chav mobiles). Drove a top spec Volvo last year...

Oh no, removing a hands free from a TD5

The Parrot will have a cable leading to the main box, about the size of a cigarette packet, this in turn will connect to a power supply and microphone and some form of speaker(s). It could be a complete stand alone installation with its own speaker and getting power from the fuse board. It...

    Heated rear window wires

I think that the contacts are bonded on during Manufacture, you could try "Silver loaded epoxy" RS part Number 186-3616 as this is a conductive adhesive.
