    First wash of the year

Had to give her a wash, she's on stag do duties next week and I'll be taking 6 blokes, my brother's 90 will be taking 7 blokes. Guess I thought I'd wash and brush out the dog fur and mud first time this year. But the diff oils are sparkling clean don't you know. The Tesla gets washed weekly...

    90 on a trailer

That's too small and probably 750kg max. I would prefer a twin axle with brakes.

    90 on a trailer

I've been browsing their site looking at the options, expensive, but certainly worth it. Trouble is, I keep seeing how small I can get away with, I can image me parking the 90 on it gritting my teeth. The double axle certainly is a must to keep the weight off the ball at least.

    90 on a trailer

it's a 3.5tonne mercedes sprinter base beast. Certainly don't have the room down the side of my house for that but nice idea. Actually, my brother (who owns a LR company), said jokingly, can't you just town the motorhome with the land rover! Can you imagine that, my 1985 petrol 70hp land...

    90 on a trailer

Now that does look neat. I see you have a thatcham approved dog too. What I do like about that trailer, looking at their web site, is that you can have the optional fold down sides. That means I can get rid of my current basic trailer and have this one that can do both jobs. It's expensive...

    90 on a trailer

Great info, that does look tight, but ideal size. I'll not be doing tons of journeys, just the odd tour maybe once a year. This is wot I need to keep it small too store.

    90 on a trailer

That's a good point, I keep finding plant trailers and wondering.

    90 on a trailer

I've seen a few designed for small cars, but I must also remember that it weighs 1.7tonne, so it would need to be beefy as well as small. Trouble I'm finding, if you go to a trailer that can take 2 tonnes, then it becomes very large. Tempted to get a chassis from a second hand big trailer and...

    90 on a trailer

Does anyone have information about the smallest possible trailer to fit a LR 90 onto? Obviously braked and twin axle. Every trailer I see seems big, but if I wanted to make one myself specifically to plop a 90 onto, it would be quite small. anyone seen anything out there already made?

    Tow Rope/cable

    All good info, cheers.

    Tow Rope/cable

That's a fair point, don't think I'd chance it in the future unless it's just a simple pull to gain traction or something. Besides, my 1985 90 with petrol engine will struggle to pull the skin off a rice pudding, so don't really want to go having a tug of war with anything. But may consider...

    Tow Rope/cable

all good advice. cheers. I'm a practical person but sometimes it's worth asking and reminding ourselves that you may do more harm than good. I'll stick to towing people out of puddles instead in the future.

    Tow Rope/cable

That's a good point, could easily bend a tow hook or worse. Especially the weight of cars these days.

    Tow Rope/cable

this seems like a good choice... https://webexltd.co.uk/shop/tow-strap-hook-loop/ but yes, some general advice for all if anyone can share. Obviously, you have to fix to the towee to a tow hook. Personally, I would just drop it over my tow bar, but any advice on this is always helpful.

    Tow Rope/cable

I must say, and trying not to be too judgemental here. the van was brand new and was converted to have a wheelchair in the back on a ramp. He was massive, I mean, he could barely stand up let alone look under the car to see what he had done. His wife standing by the side, somehow, was larger...

    Tow Rope/cable

Maybe this... Although, paddock do this, maybe with a couple of shackles as suggested, it may do for having under the seat. https://www.paddockspares.com/pm1171-6mtr-recovery-tow-strap.html I'll wait to see what else anyone can suggest.

    Tow Rope/cable

I was at a local jumble sale by our scout hut saturday and some **** moved the cones that were put there to stop people driving on the very boggy field next to the hard standing car park. then they drove their transit custom that must have weighed 2 tonnes and got very stuck. They buried their...

    Another A frame towing question

Yes, I've also been reading this. Not getting anyone who's done this, seems it's on top so, with the right stuff and some relatively simple mods. At the end of the day it's only a nice to have. The system shared above takes up to 1600kg. So it would have to be something more powerful...

    Another A frame towing question

I have the right license for over 750kg braked, that's not an issue. How would an A frame brake the vehicle, surely you would have to convert the land rover to brake when the motorhome brakes. Or are you saying with a commercial license you can tow higher unbraked?

    Another A frame towing question

(UK) I'd like to tow my 1985 Land rover 90 behind my Mercedes A class motorhome. My motorhome is more than capable of towing this weight without issue, but for info it weighs in at 3.5 tonnes, has a max weight of 4.5tonnes and has max tow train of 6.3 tonnes according to the stamp on the...
