Other thing is to check the rave to see if there's any notes on power supply... Is it also worth checking the ground to make sure it's getting a good solid connection? Vibration of gearbox could be affecting it?

In those systems the reversing cam is often activated by connecting a wire to the reversing lights. If you've connected it, or it's touching anything else that's live, it might be confusing the system. I did an upgrade on my pre-facelift model and not had any problems so far

I've had exactly this issue and just fixed mine recently! Only it was the passenger door. I had a new lock unit so could just swapped the whole unit out. Fairly quick job but lmk if you have any questions, I might have some pics or something I can share if it helps!
